Does anyone know rather the Wii U can support 5ghz Wifi connections? I know the xbox is able to support 5ghz Wifi A connections but not wireless N on 5ghz.

I would also like to use a lan connection, but find a 5ghz connection stable.

Just called a bunch of Gamestop storea near JFK area, and they said that NO GAMESTOP will be doing a midnight launch for the Wii U. There goes my plans for my first night on the US ever...



Maybe i'll just camp out at some Walmart or K-Mart...

I will check again with another store employee, they all seem to not be on the same page, when it comes to Wii U

However I do want the black one, simply because of Nintendo Land, because there's not very many lunch games that I'm crazy about, so I might only pick up 1-2 games on launch day.

And therefore Nintendo land helps.

Maybe I'm still stuck on the Sega Dreamcast launch....man that was awesome... Powerstone, Sonic, Mortal Kombat, Ready to Rumble and House of the dead..all on one day.

why would you care what everyone else thinks? yes a majority of people want the black wii u but there is nothing wrong with getting the white one.

Obviously I really don't, seeing that all the gamers that I know personally that are friends and family, hate Nintendo and think it's a kiddie system. I mean ALL of my friends are Sony or Xbox fanboys..so obviously I don't care too much because I'm probably the definition of a Nintendo fanboy.

I guess it was more of being persuaded to get the Deluxe, especially from the Gamestop employees, that were like dude "the White Wii U us ugly" and blah blah

Well at the time they did have the stock, now they are completely sold out of both, so I guess I will have to stick to the black one.

I agree, if you prefer the white and don't care about the bonuses, then switch your preorder to white.

As for me... I prefer the white console but the fact that the deluxe comes with the 2 year thing is tempting. And Nintendo Land isn't looking as bad as I thought it'd be. Hearing everything is able to be played singleplayer is a plus too.

I wish I could, but the dude that works at Gamestop said that most likely I would have to get to the back of the line when it comes to pre orders or I might get the 2nd or 3rd rounds of shipments, saying that unless someone fails to show that ordered a white one or changed their order I'm out if luck.

To be honest, I actually only got the black version of the Wii U because I did not wanna be the odd ball.

I was in a Gamestop store with around 10 people pre ordering the Wii U and everyone, was getting the Deluxe Wii U as well as Gamestop employees were telling people the Deluxe was a better value.

So when he asked me what color I wanted..everybody looked at me...and I was like Oops...I want the Deluxe also.

But I really wanted the white console, just because it looks cool to me.

Best bet is to ask your store rep or manager. I've seen many different answers to this question. Some say that the store will set one aside for all preorders regardless of the line if potential buyers, but I know my GS rep said that still it's first come first serve.

I've never had a Nintendo console break on me, N64, Gamecube nor Wii.

The first console I ever had break on me was my Dreamcast, stopped reading certain disc. Otherwise never had a problem with any other console sure to wear and tear.

My Ps3 did break on me however, but it was more than likely a power surge, because everything else including my tv was gone.

Just the Wii U (deluxe) and NSMBU and maybe Tekken. I think I pre ordered too many games. Not saying I don't like Pikmin and Zombi U, but I would probably cancel my pre orders.

The Manager at the Gamestop that I preordered from says that Corporate doesn't like doing midnight launch going into Sunday, something about it causing issues with sales and inventory.

Therefore he was told that they are not midnight launch for Wii U.

Maybe your problem is that you're playing only Mario titles. @_@ *doesn't really like Mario* You should try some other series too.

Got the 360 for christmas when it lanched got the wii the year after and got the ps3 slim for 50 dollars at a pawn shop last year.
Oh yeah and got the Vita for a whopping 90 dollars

$50???? For the PS3?? Even as used at a Pawn Shop that is super cheap, pawn shops around here sell Ps3's for 100-150.

Reggie isn't Nintendo, but Nintendo of America actually makes it's own decisions when it comes to distribution and such. They are more than just a face. Why would a Japanese marketing team be in charge of American marketing? Same goes for Europe.

Me personally would I??? No, the most I would pay is maybe a $100 profit price, but not a extra $300-400 for the console.

Well the Nintendo 3DXL is my first handheld console, I was bored out of my mind, as I had already sold my Xbox 360, and my PS3 got fried from a power surge, so didn't bother getting it repaired.

So I purchased the Nintendo 3DXL and it only confirms what I though, that handheld gaming is not my cup of tea. Maybe it's just the lack of games, so far I own New Super Mario Bros 2 and Mario Kart 7 on it, and bored with NSMB2 and Mario Kart 7 is okay, but I'm bored with the levels.

Anyone have any predictions in any good games that are out for the 3DS?

I won't be getting Pokemon White 2 or Paper Mario Sticker star until christmas (parents getting it). I get 20$ a week in allowance, and the reason I started doing chores is for wii u. I know. It hurts. It will pay off in the long run though.

Yep, last time I was this hype for a console was Nintendo 64.

I was going to trade in my wii and ds towards it but I didn't pre-order at Gamestop only got one at Toys R Us

Great idea, I already traded in my Xbox 360 towards the Wii U and my Nintendo 3dxl, I purchased it and all it did was confirm my dislike for handhelds.

But with that being said, cash back is even less than store credit at Gamestop. You are defintaly in a hard place.

Ive been thinking for the past several days over the drought of Wii U news and am now thinking about canceling my pre-order.
Im 80 percent NO and 20 percent YES!

( Reasons I should)
- Im missing out on Borderlands 2, LBP VITA, Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, AC:liberation and more because of the wii u
-I am basically working my job for the next 4 or 5 weeks to pay the thing off.
- No spending money in general.
- Not as much Christmas Money

(Reasons I shouldn't)
-Tons of great Nintendo games and an awesome new console.
-Already paid off Zombi U And Assassins Creed 3
-Missing out on games now but getting awesome games later.
- I can always buy the others later

My opinion, you might not like it. But I would actually trade in my ps vita and games and accessories towards store credit or cash to put down on the Wii U, but then again I'm just not a fan of handhelds.

Therefore it makes less of a dent in yout pocket.

Trust me, this system is gonna be completly sold out everywhere for the first few weeks. You will find yourself waiting for the delivery trucks at Walmart and Target every Wednesday.

The least you can deposit is 50 bucks at EB Games/GameStop for a console pre-order. Put that down for now (if you can find somewhere that still has pre-orders) if you think you might have the money for the launch day. And once it gets closer to launch, you can always cancel and if they don't give you your deposit just keep it on your account or put it on a giftcard to use later.

Just called my gamestop-they don't know if they're having a midnight launch, but we do have 48 hours to pick up the pre-order.

My gamestop says they are not doing launch, simply because they never have in history doing any launches going into Sunday, something that Corporate dislikes for some reason.

The reason is that MS lost a couple billion dollars by not designing the first model properly, so need to make that money up.
Sony, have lost money on the PS3 up until a year or two ago, so need to make that money up.

Can't say that I can blame MS and Sony, but I can blame 360 buyers. I brought a 360 in 2009 and I felt ripped off.

I honestly think that the PS3 still has plenty of life in it left, considering that it hasn't been really tapped to its full capabilities. I estimate that we might begin to see actual PS4 news by around 2015.

Not sure about Microsoft, though. They're on life support, right now, trying to elongate the lifespan of the thing with the Kinect and Smartglass.

Right, Ps3 is understandable, but there's just no way to defend the 360, 360 is just old tech at this point.
