And they can tranfer stuff over but they need the old wii u and new wii u. To verify, and tranfer the information in there system.

no games are linked to 1 console only.. in order for them to play on another console you need to be logged in online to be able to access them .. its not a big deal its been this way with psn and xbox live for over 5 years now..O_o

and another thing.. if they have the ability to transfer licences to other consoles(which they claim they dont BTW) why cant they do it?they just migrate his network id to the new system?

my buddy just found this out the hard way.
he purchased nintendoland,mario u,zombi u,and warriors orochi 3.
his system had a boot error and wouldn't load the games.. so he took it back and was lucky enough to get another console.
well here is the kicker upon getting home and trying to download his games on his new system he couldn't even use the same nintendo network id.
seems that everything you buy is tied to your account ,which in turn is tiede to your console.. makes sense right ?, but here is the kicker.. its that console only.. you cant transfer you cant get a new or used system at a later date and retain your purchases.
you have to start all over and loose all the money you just spent.
he has been on the phone and in e-mail contact with over 5 different divisions of nintendo every since and every time he is told sorry that is the way it is.. re-purchase the games again with a new account for the new system and try again... sorry for any inconvenience...!!!
to me this is totally unacceptable.
so stay away from digital right now until nintendo gets this straightened out or else it seems like you are just wasting money if something happens to your system.

If any one thinks the ps4 and the xbox 720 are going to be cheap you are sadly mistaken. Both systems will probably be minum 450.

yeah but Microsoft is doing a smart phone type contract with the 720.
something like $100 down and $20 a month for 2 or 3 years cant remember the exact length.
and that will include the system a controller and the live service for the duration of the contract.. which really.. if you were gonna have live anyway.. isn't a bad deal.

You're assuming that Wii U games bought on disc at retail will be installable on the internal storage or an external hard drive. That hasn't been stated or confirmed by Nintendo to my knowledge. I doubt they will be.

wasn't available on wii either but home brew made it possible.

Troubled publisher THQ dropped more potentially bad financial news on Friday, revealing that it was in "certain defaults" on a $50 million credit facility with lender Wells Fargo.

The Agoura Hills based publisher of Darksiders, Saints Row and WWE wrestling games wouldn't clarify the conditions of the credit facility it has defaulted on, but did report "loan availability on the Credit Facility was less than 12.5% of the maximum revolver amount," a technical default of the terms of the loan. THQ tells Polygon that Wells Fargo continues to fund its requests while the two parties discuss the terms of their credit agreement.

In a filing with the SEC, THQ says it was notified by Wells Fargo on Nov. 7 that "one or more events of default have occurred under the terms of the Credit Facility, including the failure to comply with financial covenants" for the most recent quarter.

THQ entered into the $50 million revolving credit facility with Wells Fargo in 2011. The company borrowed $21 million from that credit facility during its third quarter, which ended Sept. 30.

i guess im just a gamer and not a collector.. i would down load a game or 2 then beat it and delete it.
i have over 600 games on my xbox gamer tag there is no way i could afford to store all that on anything.
so for me it would be fine.. i have the rights and could always download it again if i felt like replaying a title....but i never really do.

i posted this because in another thread i saw a few people saying they wouldn't get a hdd because they were going to use sd cards to download.
i myself will be using a 1 tb book that i have had sitting around forever.
but i don't get the sd cards aren't a smart cheap option argument...
we have 64 gig sd cards here for $30
that's cheap to me for double the hard drive space your console has.

i am trying to put together a list of confirmed downloadable titles from the e-shop on day one.
for the simple fact that i have heard from more than one source that most titles will be between 5-10% cheaper online and as an added bonus you get 10% back in shop points that you can use to buy new games.
which makes me feel stupid if i buy a $60 Mario game at eb games just to get home and see it for $55 and i get $5.50 back for buying it.
so far the only confirmed releases i can get a positive on are super Mario and Nintendo land.

so does anyone else have any info on these rumors or have any other titles to add to the list?

There has been nonconfirmed reports of it being onkine and no bandi reps have confirmed it, and think alot of people are assuming becuase the pictures of faces its online, it is split screen def, 3 people on tv 1 on game pad

Nintendo have had more money than Sony since the PS3 launched.

Game sales are declining. 20% or so I believe.

srly why no one is buying THQ right away??? its VERY CHEAP for all the money microsoft,nintendo and sony have, its more like gift than a purchase, adquiring theyr IPs and doing new games will generate to them only more earnings!

like i said earlier.. its just bad business it makes no sense on paper why they are in this mess. hell they even got a bundle of cash from syfy for a lot of their i.p's.
i believe they are in a lot of debt, or have made bad investment decisions or else they cant get much liquid right now.

unfortunately if there is no pro pad logo on the back of the box its a no go.
im in the same boat as you though an i am looking at having to buy at least 2 wii motes and 2 nunchuck things just so my kids can play games.. i get it though allot of games use motion and the pro cant do that.. just sucks i am going to have to have so many different controllers just to play the very first launch games.

I hope I don't crush it out of rage during a losing streak while playing some game that I suck at. That's honestly how they are making it sound to me.

Ok.. So you want me to hook up a N64, a NES, a SNES all on my 52' HDTV and have wired controllers so my eyes bleed from how close the TV is. Its easier to have it all in one console, sit on my couch and use a wireless controller. Its as simple as that. The wii u is capable of doing this, but they intentionally chose not to. Thats what s bothering me. And of course I want to play the new games as well. So ur not really adressing the issue here, WHY doesnt nintendo enable this, when its possible and easy to do?



You are aware that it is possible to play old games on the wii u? So if they already decided to include this in the console, why do you find it strange that I want to use the default wireless controllers for these games? It should be possible, its just stupid that its not.

i agree the emulation process should have been better the fact that they cant put in a plug in that would allow personalized button customization is a little unbelievable to me as well.
i understand everything you said and agree with most of it.. the thing i find silly is the deal breaker on a next gen system is that it cant p[lay all the old games with a new controller,like the system you still have can.
just doesn't seem like a valid reason to spend $300 to use a wireless controller for old games.
you should be getting the wii u for the new factor and all the new things you wil be able to do with it. that's all im saying.
to not buy it because you cant use the controller to play old games form retired systems.. seems . silly to me..
