#147429 youtube gone from wii u?

Posted by Jehuty on 13 December 2012 - 12:09 AM in Wii U Hardware

there is a temp workaround, just got to use the embed version of the video.

change this part of the web address
/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0
to
/embed/9bZkp7q19f0
should work with the browser. you can still change video quality.

#146604 What's your job?

Posted by Jehuty on 11 December 2012 - 09:15 AM in The Café

I install/repair Video-On-Demand payperview systems, RF broadcasting equipment, High Speed Internet Access (Cable and DSL), Satellite TV for hotels. Before that I used to be a satellite technician for Hughes communication and a pc repair tech at a local repair shop. Just had an interview with the local cable company as a commuications engineer, hopefully I get hired. Also, I got to where I am by only having an AS in electonics/computer/networking techonology degree.

One perk with my current job is I get to "test" the Nintendo SNES/N64/gamecube. payperview systems to make sure they work.

29/hawaii here. First console was actually the Atari 2600. Our NES came with the grey zapper (never new they had an ORANGE zapper till recently !!!) I skipped the n64/gamecube generation (went ps1 only because square games went to them that generation). I got a PS2 but hardly played it because I was in college at the time. got a DS phat because my cousin got me hooked on Wario Ware Touched. I've owned all consoles this generation (360/ps3/wii). ANd bought a wii-U at launch.

I actually get to play and catch up on GCN games at work. I do maintenance on nintendo payperview systems so I get "test" and make sure they are in working order ;)

#139656 Anime Discussion

Posted by Jehuty on 28 November 2012 - 10:37 AM in The Café

So anybody watch anime from the 80's/90's? Been watching Anime since the late 80's. Can't really have a conversation with anyone besides my brother because nobody knows what I'm talking about. I do watch recent Anime here and there but not like I used to back in the day. I think the last "recent" anime I enjoyed was Garei Zero, BoogiePop Phantom, and Welcome to NHK. Can't really stand the MOI and GAR stuff.

#139653 Destructoid's review of Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition

Posted by Jehuty on 28 November 2012 - 10:26 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Apparantly, Harada was able to easily find a way around the slighltly lower clock speed of the wii u cpu rather quickly.

Yup kinda funny as he was the one who publically said there were some issues to get the game to work well with the CPU and yet this port is one of the best, if not the best ones on the WiiU. My brothers been playing it days nonstop and no hiccups so far.

#139648 Wii U and external USB Hard Drives?

Posted by Jehuty on 28 November 2012 - 10:18 AM in Wii U Hardware

I only have 2 sockets for my TV and Wii U, a USB hard drive that the Wii U could power itself would be ideal but is it risky? i.e could the Wii U overheat or something?

It won't make it overheat. The Wiiu USB ports just providing voltage which USB does by default, it doesn't make the WiiU work harder or anything.. I have the 8GB model with a 160GB external powered by the USB y-cable.

My current setup. Wow, just realized how dirty my HDD is, Better go clean it.

#135670 Official Nintendo Network ID Sharing Thread

I know it's already been said but it's good to mention it again, it's better to send your friend request via Miiverse, under USER MENU>SEARCH USERS to send requests. Doing it this way the receiver will get the request notification, as opposed to both of you having to manually send your NNID to each other via Friend List (3ds/friendcode exhange style).

#135066 Wifi or USB Ethernet?

Posted by Jehuty on 20 November 2012 - 06:32 PM in Wii U Hardware

Has anybody tried internetspeedtest.com on the Wii U? I'm not sure if this site uses flash or not though.

Just did a test on speedof.me (speedtest.net doesn't support html5). I got 1.38 Mb/s for download. It got stuck on upload. www.bandwidthplace.com I got 3.1Mbps on D/l and again upload got stuck.

Who here is 30+ y/o? It'd be cool to exchange IDs with some of the "old" gamers.

Just turned 29, old enough? Been gaming since Atari.
