I studied Electrical Engineering at college, I am now a Software Engineer. I write software for automation systems for use in Industrial Processess, mainly Sewerage, Waste Water & Water Treatment.

We have all heard of the veritable smorgasboard of services that will be available of the Wii U for those lucky enough to live in the US, but what of those of us in the uk? Will we be seeing any comparible services? I know the Wii had access to both Netflix and BBC iPlayer in the UK so I shall be hopeing to see those return, but could we expect LoveFilm? The US is getting Amazon Video, and I know Amazon owns LoveFilm...so fingers crossed. Has anyone heard anything concrete on this?

If you are going to use a hub, I would recommend a powered hub. This way you know the controller is going to get enough current to charge it properly.

In uk does it matter which order these updates get applied? I mean is it better for this to be added after the first big day one update to the OS?
Dont want to patch this before the big one do we? What im getting at is IF 'tendo release this patch before the 30th....??
I imagine that any fixes from a new patch will either mean a slightly larger patch for us UK users, or concurrent patches, ie large initial patch with a smaller one straight after.

Wonder if my A40's will work by plugging them straigh into the game pad, not using the mix amp...hmmm, guess I'll have to wait unless someone else has tried this?

This is awesome i have my Wii U on pre order from GAME hopefully, they will have a lock in at my local store. I know they are haveing a midnight launch event which I will be attending!

Awesome! I love seeing inside hardware, also means i don't have to do it myself and invalidate my warrenty. That being said, i can't imagine it will be long before we start seeing modded consoles! Would love a to see a clear case mod become available.

hey welcome to the site! My Wii U will hopefully be delivered to my house sometime soon, but I won't get a chance to play with it until I come home for Christmas vacation as sadly I am trapped at college with a crap load of reading lol! hope everybody is having fun tho!

The Wii U supports hard drives up to 2TB in size.
Ahh that's cool then hopefully it'll work then, it has its own power supply too so power shouldn't be an issue. Has Nintendo got a fault reporting system runnig yet? Seems to me that this is the kind of thing they'd want to know about, the more bugs people find with the OS the better they can combat these problems with updates.

I'm probably clutching at straws here but could it be the storage capacity of the drive? I know some devices don't like devices over a certain capacity. My Blu-Ray throws a fit if i try to connect my 1 TB HDD to it. Hope this is not the case, because i was going to use it for my Wii U.

Eeeek doesn't sound too good, one would hope that a USB 3.0 device would work on a USB 2.0 port. I thought it was simply a case of it operating at the slower speed, hopefully it is something that Nintendo can patch if it is simply a case of conflict with USB 3.0 devices

Hey this is my first post here. Typing this from the UK, got my Wii U on Pre-Order; ZombiU Premium Pack, will prob pick up New Super Mario Bros U as well. Only 9 days 2 hours and some mins to go! w00p! How is everyone in the states enjoying their consoles so far? Does it live up to the hype? was it better or worse than yopu expected? Any gaming gems I might not of considered?
