It'll be just like the Wii vs Xbox 360 and PS3. The Wii U will have great exclusive and fun innovative ways to play.
The Wii is way underpowered from the Xbox and PS3, but outsold them by alot! The Wii U will be no different I presume, but I wish it came out 6 years ago because it does seem its a little late to the party imo. I don't have any doubt for Nintendo, I have more doubt for Sony...

The Pro Controller feels soooo nice I can't get over it lol. Unfortunately, its not compatible with any of my games so I have yet to use it.

The thumbstick are great, the arch or hump w/e u call it, it's waaaaay better than xbox's concaved thumbsticks and squeaky triggers.
Ps3 was my favorite, now the wii u pro controller feels the best. Xbox's is overrated, the thumbsticks on that are way too stiff, buttons stick to easily.... blah, i bought the Halo 4 xbox edition that came with 2 controllers, and they're both in bad shape... Had a ps3 controller for years and its still great.
Wii u pro controller > Ps3 Controller > Xbox controller IMO

the perfect game to show off the gamepad would be Mario Paint U. People are already making ridiculous artwork on the miiverse with a few tools with black and white. Mario Paint U would be sick with the gamepad!

Ain't no Wii u Pro pad, is only wii remote or classic controller.
Why would I need it to register as a pro controller when I have one? It'll just be my controller for Wii games and future games that support wiimote functionality.I hate to agree with Nollog, but it doesn't have an IR sensor so there's no way it's going to register as a Wii U Pro Controller.

I couldn't stand the fact that different games use different controllers. If any of you are like me, I strongly disliked the wii mote and anything that had to do with the old wii system. What I wanted out of it was mainly to use a more gamer controller, i.e. the newly released pro controller, and was super excited Nintendo was making one. The issue I kept running into, however, was that certain games required this controller, certain games required this attachment, blah blah. This made me incredibly frustrated. I found it completely unacceptable that their new pro controller was not fully supported by all the new wii u games when it could have been. I feared a future where this issue would repeatedly come about, forcing me to always switch controllers and never really get used to one.

Im hoping that the reason behind this is that the exclusive launch titles just got too focused with the new hardware and brainlessly made their games gamepad specific. I believe NSMBU was a rush job to get a Mario game out at launch, its basically an HD mod from SMB wii. Its the only reason I can see for it not supporting the new controller.

the nunchuk is basically just the left thumbstick and ZL right? this controller claims to work with every wii game, im sure it'll work. It might just be a bit awkward controlling the cursor...

It being compatible with ALL Wii and Wii U games makes it a must have for me.
Im getting Mario Galaxy 2 for x-mas, I don't wanna have to use a nunchuk and wii mote... The wii U pro controller was a huge letdown for me as its not even compatible with the NSMBU game...

After playing the Sonic Racing demo it reminded me of how much I loved Panzer Dragoon on the Sega Saturn. Sega should make a Panzer Dragoon U game!

Mine does too. I don't see these controllers being too durable. Which is a shame since they're basically forced upon us and cost $150.

Just checked it out, ill definitely be picking one up! I still find Nintendo stupid though. It's basically the same thing as the Pro Controller. The only thing missing is the wii mote sensor.Just buy the interworks pro-controller, plus its cheaper!

That makes sense, but you misunderstood me a little. If the pro controller was allowed to be used for games designed for the game pad, then you would be missing out on all the additional innovative ways to play that Nintendo is basically forcing upon us. It should be optional, not forced. I understand some games will require the game pad, but most of them don't/won't.If the Gamepad was optional that would defeat most of the purpose of the Wii U being original. Sorry but I disagree with your opinion.

Its obvious Nintendo wants the gamepad to be the focus to play games differently. But if they want dev's to make it a requirment for most exclusive titles, then I have a problem with that.
IMO, the gamepad should be the peripheral for optional/additional gameplay features.

If SMBU can't utilize (but it can) the pro controller, I don't have high hopes for the Wii VC games AND future Wii U games like paper mario, donkey kong, etc... I hope Nintendo is aware of this and is willing to fix it for the gamers that care.

lol. well if every exclusive nintendo game doesn't support the pro controller then that sucks... because it makes the pro controller obsolete for me. We all know the Wii U will be the worst console for multiplatform games. If im gonna play COD, ill do it on Xbox for obvious reasons.

Just picked one up, and apparently I can't use it. It's not compatible with most games, including Super Mario Bros and Nintendo Land. What a Joke. If Nintendo is making games strictly to be used with the gamepad then... .well im just at a loss for words. Its stupid to say the least. We need to start a petition or something so Nintendo can patch the problem asap.

3rd party games on the Wii U will just be inferior ports with gimmicky features thanks to the game pad. I hate to think it, but its true. Good news is that Nintendo has ALOT of great exclusive titles, which is the main reason I bought a Wii U.

The Wii U should have a Mario Paint U game!
We all know what we can expect to see.... mario, zelda, metroid kirby, donkey kong, etc.
Im very excited for all the amazing exclusive Nintendo franchises to make games dedicated for the Wii U.
MY wish list would include:
Donkey Kong Country U (I want dixie playable!)
Yoshi Island U (my favorite snes game was smw2 yoshi island, I really wish they can make a sequal of that game in HD!) Yoshi Story on N64 was disappointing...
Paper Mario U (I wish they bring it back RPG style)
WWF No mercy remake...
Those are my top wishes, to really stretch my wish list i would want alot of NES remakes. Jackal, GI Joe, Stealth, Captain skyhawk, Pokemon rpg style... Nintendo eshop should have an arcade section!
