#210832 Lego city undercover saved game problem on wii u

Posted by bossdj26 on 24 May 2013 - 08:05 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Yea, no idea why everyone is being all jerk-like.

Unfortunately, you're unable to transfer save files between Wii U consoles at this time. This was one of the main reasons cheat codes existed back in the day. It might be worth emailing/calling the game company to see if there's some kind of trick/code to skip ahead. I'm assuming during this day and age, you might be out of luck.

Now you have an excuse to play your kid's video games though :)

#189144 Off to Nintendo

Hey all,

Just an update in case anyone cared.I got my Wii U back from Nintendo last week. Turns out there was a hardware failure and was given a replacement console. Lost all of my save data :( New one is up and running pretty smooth so far. Also, was able to re-download everything from the eShop easily.

I'm keeping all my save data on an external HD this time around ;) Oh well, guess I will have to catch back up on everything from scratch.

So let it be known that freezing/gamepad beeping is not strictly a software problem.

#186398 Freezing & Beep

Posted by bossdj26 on 26 March 2013 - 06:48 AM in Wii U Hardware Help

Hi, my console is a Zombie U Deluxe Edition

I can play new super marios bros wii u, mario kart (wii), zombie u without freezing

but when it comes to batman and walking dead (survival instinct) it freezes always in the same cut scene.

Batman after catwoman opens the safe, the cut scene has no sound and then a black screen and walking dead after I follow the trail of blood in the very beginning of the game, meet some guy and black screen.

Sometimes I can access the home button and click the wii u menu but it never goes there.

I've called Nintendo and the woman said to delete the data games, after done that batman froze in other point, 5 seconds after the point it usually freezes but walking dead froze in the same point.

Should I send it to Nintendo?

I'll try to run those games in another wii u console, I'll go to a GameStop store to see if they help me anyhow.

It's running firmware 2.13U and it has no internet connection.

My Wii U got so bad with freezing that I couldn't make it to the boot-up screen anymore. I sent it into Nintendo and it's due back in a couple days. I can give you an update to see if it's worth sending it later in the week.

I was one of the RROD victims but at least you were able to keep all of your save data, purchases, and online activity. I'm getting the feeling I'll lose everything on my new one. I never really cared that Nintendo decided to tie everything to each single console until now. Really wish they would have switched over to some kind of account/cloud model like Microsoft and Sony. I know it's not the biggest deal to lose all my achievements and save progress, but as a product that was designed to play games and cost a good chunk of change, I'm pretty disappointed.

For my own preparation in the future, are you able to save everything to an external HD that will be compatible with another Wii U? If it ever decides to kick the bucket again, I would like to have everything backed up.

So earlier last week, my girlfriend was complaining she was getting a lot of game freezes while playing Mario and had to unplug the console to reset. Then I started getting hit by the freezes during COD and ZombiU more frequently. Finally, the freezing and beeping got so bad, I couldn't get passed the boot-up screen. And if I did happen to make it the main menu, it froze after making any menu choices.

Sent it into Nintendo to get it repaired since it was a gift and didn't have a receipt to do an exchange. Pretty disappointed as the console was just over a month old. What happened to you Nintendo :( My n64 is alive and kicking. I know there are always risks when buying first gen hardware but this a bit outrageous even for me. I'm considering selling off the refurbished one and waiting til they work out the kinks on their end.

Anybody else have to send it in for unplayable freezing? I've heard a lot this was a software bug, but I tried everything under the sun and failed.
