Nordic are to all intents and purposes Jowood under a different name, Jowood were notorious amongst PC gamers for releasing unfinished and buggy games (Gothic 3 is an infamous example) and Nordic's reputation isn't any better. I wouldn't expect anything good to come of this.

Hmm a Saturn with a built in netlink, I had heard rumours of such a thing existing although whether this is legitimate or not I can't say.

That looks like a very nice PC, all high quality parts and very good value for money. It's actually quite a bit more powerful than mine which makes me a little bit jealous but when I made it I had a much lower budget to play with.

At the moment both AMD and Intel seem to be changing socket standards every year or two so a future proof motherboard isn't really something you can get. So it's very likely that any CPU upgrades in 2/3 years will need a new motherboard. Shouldn't have any problems with graphics cards for a while though PCI-E will likely be the standard for some time as even that massively expensive Nvidia GeForce Titan isn't anywhere near maxing PCI-Es potential data transfer capabilities. Any decent DDR3 RAM should be good for a few years though as will a good case, PSU, SSD etc.

Well the OS I'd recommend (Windows 7 Home Premium) costs about $100, so you've got $900 for a complete tower. That could get you a lot of PC.

There's one very important thing I'd want to know before I make an recommendations; do you have a monitor, mouse and keyboard that you could use for this PC? I ask because if you don't have these it could quite drastically reduce what you can afford to spend on the PC itself.
I can also give you some good advice that applies no matter what. The first is don't skimp on the power supply, seriously make sure you get a good one if you don't you'll almost certainly regret it in the long run. Secondly made sure you get a Solid State Drive for your OS as a minimum but ideally get a bigger one you can install a few games on too. You will probably want a regular hard drive along side the SSD for document storage etc.

Yep I had an absolute bugger of a time tracking down a copy of MH3U, ended up having to order from The Hut which was worrying considering their reputation for customer service. Thankfully my order seemed to avoid their usual incompetence and I had my copy the following morning. Lego City on the other hand I was able to buy in a shop last weekend without any problems, so I'm surprised to see that people are struggling to get a copy.

I have to agree in some ways with the OP, a good competitive multiplayer FPS would be a good game to have on the Wii U particularly if it's an exclusive. However I don't think it should be a Call of Duty clone, there's enough of those stinking up the market at the moment plus they bring with them 12 year old brats who insist on screaming down the microphone about their opponent's mothers social lives. ![]()
Being serious though I would love to see a decent FPS on the Wii U, but if it's another greyish brown CoD clone which has you hiding behind walls sucking your thumb until you've magically regenerated your health you can count me out. The main reason I bought a Wii U was so I could get games which didn't follow that now all to common formula.

Erm....
Lego City Undercover: 3 hours
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate: 3 hours
Zombi U: 2 hours
In my defense I've only had a Wii U for just over a week and in that week not had much gaming time.

I think I'm going to show my age here, there first gaming system I had was a BBC B computer, I was very young at the time so only really played the sort of awful edutainment titles that parents like to buy for their children. However one of those really does stick in the memory and I'm sure a lot of other Brits of a similar age to me will remember it, Granny's Garden. This image will probably haunt my dreams for the rest of my life:

The BBC B wasn't really a gaming system for me though, the first system which I really played games on was an Acorn Archimedes. I always won the playground arguments with friends about who had the better gaming systems, since this was a British school the argument was normally Amiga vs Sega with occasional Nintendo fans. I had the trump card though, the best version of the original Elite. If we want to go for first console then it was a Gameboy Pocket with a copy of Tetris.

Whilst it is great that the Wii U is getting these definitive editions of recent games I think that it could be something of a mixed blessing. Yes getting the best version of major titles is a good thing but with the delay between the usual PC/PS3/Xbox360 editions and the Wii U one it makes the system look like it's lagging behind. Of course a quick dirty port which doesn't make the best use of the system is even more damaging as it does nothing to show the sort of unique gaming experience the Wii U is capable of producing. Really it's a sort of damned if you do damned if you don't situation.

Something to note, in Europe this sale doesn't include any Wii U titles. So if you want to buy NFS Most Wanted U direct from EA in Europe it'll cost full retail price which is a bit of a blow as it's a bit of a no brainer IMO to buy a Critereon game at half price.

Hello everyone, I'm Nick (like you couldn't guess
)
This seems to be one of the better Wii U forums so I thought I'd dive in headfirst since I'm now very impatiently waiting for delivery of a basic Wii U and copy of Zombi U. I've had a bit of an on/off relationship with Nintendo over the years that for some reason results in a console every 2 generations, I own a SNES, owned a GC and I've now bought a Wii U. Went for the Wii U because unlike Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo seem to be focussing on gameplay innovation rather than simply making each console more and more powerful which is apparently the approach being taken for the PS4 and next xbox.
I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the console and I suspect I will end up lurking by the front door once it actually ships. ![]()
Now to figure out what other games I want to buy over the next couple of months.
