I will never get why people care so much about something they don't have to buy. The design is weird (what I thought when I fist saw it) sure, but allows entry to the  3DS library and is for people that care less about the 3D, which is probably quite a few people.

I also don't think the Wii U price cut was huge enough to justify an ambassador program. The 3DS I can see it more though,  it went from $250 to $179 so an ambasasdor program seemed very reasonable.

They aren't going to give you free games on the Wii U simply because of a game drought.

As someone who was an ambassador with the 3DS, I think the idea is stupid. Nintendo doesn't owe the consumer anything if they choose to drop the price

Too many good games coming out this fall for Wii U anyway.

I don't quite understand... Does this special edition come with a Wii U and gamepad, or just the gamepad? I'd consider getting it if I didn't already have a WiiU.

So Nintendo finally confirmed the Zelda limited edition bundle yesterday and is coming to NA on Sept. 20 and EU Oct. 4 2013. The bundle will include a Ganondorf figurine along with a Zelda decorated Wii U Gamepad, a code for downloading the digital version of Hyrule Historia, and another code ta can be used for downloading the digital copy of the game.

Anyways, here is is the Ganondorf figurine incuded in both US and EU limited edition.

If you already own a 3DS, then there is no point in purchasing the 2DS. If you want a 3DS but don't want to spend a whole lot of money for 3D features you won't use, get the 2DS for cheaper, same library of games, and 2D only.

I thought it was  a speculation if Nintendo announced a 2DS and Wii U price cut until I checked Nintendo's website...

I think he's just saying it's not being made as a PS/360 port and it's being made as an Xbox One/PS4 port and is just being handled on its own, because it has to be. Not that it isn't either generation. However, I do agree with that concept, even if that's not what he meant.

It IS the next generation Nintendo system, and is existing with the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One, but it's more or less an in-between gen console in terms of power and graphics but very next gen in terms of what it can do and how it's designed, with lots of last gen games on it. It's a weird thing.

This game doesn't even need online, it is solely a single player experience. The servers aren't going to be even populated enough so that's the reason why they chose not to add online multiplayer to the Wii U version.

Saints Row IV, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Disney Infinity dominated the top three positions. Disney Infinity on the the Wii sold at 21% of sales, Wii U at 10% and 3DS at 4%. Although it should be noted that The Wonderful 101's 22nd place is that it didn't include sales directly on the Wii U eShop, which did include a 30% off promotion for those that also purchased Pikmin 3.

It looks like stickers :s nothing too fancy.

I don't think they would put stickers on a console and then call it a special edition. Anyone can do that.The design is most likely engraved onto the console and Gamepad.

Allow cross buying games from 3DS or Wii U meaning both the eShops will be unified into one, an account based system for games instead of it being saved onto the system, a more streamline and modern UI, better OS (make use of that 1GB RAM Nintendo), being able to cross party chat with friends and invite them to play online multiplayer games (they can call it Group Chat or Mii Chat or whatever),being able to add wallpaper in the home menu (parallax effect would work great with the Gamepad), better notification system when a friend is online, folders, Gamecube games added to the Wii U eShop, universal system achievement/trophy system, better eShop design/layout (too dull and not very appealing).
