#276776 When it comes to Donkey kong...

Posted by Thrash13 on 11 March 2014 - 10:30 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Truthfully, Retro is the new Rare in many ways. Retro needs to make its own IP sometime though.

I'll be more than happy if Retro branches off and makes their own IP in the near future.  They've proven they release high-quality games with great precision and attention to detail.  I'd love to see them do something completely new with their next game, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I want to see them release a 3D Donkey Kong game in 2-3 years.

#273047 Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (Wii U): 5/10 from Gamespot

Posted by Thrash13 on 17 February 2014 - 06:58 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Great job by Gameexplain!  And saying it's the best Wii U game is a pretty lofty statement, but it's great to see.

#272828 Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (Wii U): 5/10 from Gamespot

Posted by Thrash13 on 16 February 2014 - 09:44 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Just out of curiosity, was GameSpot the place that gave Luigi's Mansion 2 a 7/10 and declared that the game was "way too hard?"

Yup, I'm pretty sure that's accurate.  Gamespot can't handle the difficult ones, lol.  We've already seen several high review scores for Tropical Freeze, and anyone who ever takes anything Gamespot writes about Nintendo seriously should probably just join the forums there and stay for awhile.  This review means absolutely nothing.

#270986 Sonic Boom Announced for Wii U

Posted by Thrash13 on 07 February 2014 - 08:20 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It's definitely a different looking Sonic game, and I think that's a good thing.  I'm looking forward to seeing more, but for now, it's looking great.  I'm intrigued for sure.

#270239 DKCTR TV Commercial

Posted by Thrash13 on 03 February 2014 - 09:39 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It's just a commercial, and it accomplishes what it's supposed to.  With not many Wii U games on the horizon, hopefully this game carries the torch pretty well.  I'm looking forward to it.

#269742 WWE 2K15 ideas?

Posted by Thrash13 on 31 January 2014 - 03:53 PM in Wii U Games and Software

2K Sports signed a 5-year deal with the WWE in February 2013 to make the company's video games, so 2K Sports will have the license for the forseeable future.  As others have mentioned, some of the greatest wrestling games ever were made for Nintendo consoles.  No Mercy and WM 2000 were made for the N64, and the Day of Reckoning series was made for Gamecube.  Those four games got a TON of gameplay on my systems, and I'd love to see Nintendo get back in the WWE loop.  I honestly don't think it's going to happen this year at least, but I'm still holding out hope.

#267906 4-Hours with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Posted by Thrash13 on 21 January 2014 - 02:51 PM in Wii U Games and Software

looks good even in 720P... still cant wait to see what the system can do if it is ever pushed by a developer.

Yeah, I really thought it was 1080p.  It looks very nice though, and I can't wait to get a Wii U along with this game next month!  The different levels look amazing, and it's going to be a pretty good challenge too.

#266741 DK: TF Rumor for ONM: More Animal Buddies, 3 Secret Levels a World, Roughly 60 L

Posted by Thrash13 on 15 January 2014 - 09:59 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I know a lot of people didn't want Retro doing this game over Metroid, but it just keeps sounding better and better!  It sounds like Retro has done a very nice job on this one and that it will be a pretty good challenge as always.  I'm excited to play this one in a little over a month!

#265684 Next Level Games Are Now Nintendo Exclusive Devs

Posted by Thrash13 on 09 January 2014 - 12:00 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Hopefully, we'll see a Luigi's Mansion for Wii U in a couple years!  This news definitely makes that a possibility, even though it was probably already a pretty good possibility.  It's always good news to see "Nintendo-only" devs.

#262378 Gamespot DKTF Preview.... Nintendo take notice!

Posted by Thrash13 on 19 December 2013 - 07:10 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Jesus how did you learn to type before you learned to read.

NO, me showing they have the balls to choose a HAND HELD TITLE over console games as an extended point AFTER talking about what you did wrong does NOT make me look stupid.

Your continued moronic responses to AN ARTICLE THAT DOESNT EXIST AND THINGS THAT WERE NEVER SAID and your consiistant belief you KNOW what was said despite NOT READING does make you look increasingly dumber.

Just like Tropical Freeze is every bit as beautiful and exacting as you would expect the sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns to be, so too is Cranky an important addition to the banana-collecting escapades. Cranky mimics another elderly hero well-loved within gaming's universe: Scrooge McDuck. The two anthropomorphic explorers make excellent use of their sturdy canes to leap high into the air, landing on hidden plateaus, vanquishing diminutive baddies, and treating spikes as mere decoration. There's a freeing buoyancy to Cranky's movements that serves as a welcome pace change from the heavy Dk
'

OH MY GOD THE BASHING!!! WHY IZ GAMSPOTZ BASHING DK????? UR only SEYIng it sux becauz its on WIII UUU!!!!

'Cranky doesn't play by the rules set by his formidable costar. Spry would be an understatement--an insult--to the monkey who treats gravity like a minor irritant. There are plenty of expected obstacles that make excellent use of Cranky's agility. Pogo across a dangerous bramble patch to reach a secret cove, or bounce high in the air to nab a token that had lain tauntingly out of reach for Donkey Kong. There is no denying that Cranky's addition allows for more expansive and diverse stage design, but that's not what made his appearance so enjoyable to me. With Cranky at the helm, movement is so much less restrictive that I was more willing to take risks.'

OMG GAMSPOTZ!!!! WHY YOU BASHING!??? DONKYZ KONG IZ GOOODZ GAME??!!!

Read. READ THE DAMN ARTICLE. And stop responding to your made up fantasy fanboy bs that only exists in your head.
'

What, lol? You're really making an ass out of yourself. I read the article before replying and again just for you my good friend.

I don't even own a Wii U. Big time fanboy here though. I'm going to leave this topic alone because I absolutely just got dumber reading all your replies.

Gamespot for the win. Take notice Nintendo! ;-)

#262337 Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is 1080p/60 FPS

Posted by Thrash13 on 19 December 2013 - 01:32 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Don't they say they don't know whether it's native 1080p or upscaled? This confuses me a bit, I mean, if you have the Wii U set to 1080p, it always upscales right? So what are they actually saying?

Edit: OK, my doubt carried over from the Mynintendonews website. They do say 1080p, and that wouldn't mean anything if it wasn't native. So ignore what I wrote above. But... where does it say it's 60 fps?

I'm pretty sure the 60fps was confirmed awhile back.  In fact, I'm pretty sure Nintendo mentioned something about most of or all of their first-party titles being 60fps moving forward.  I don't want to go digging for that info, but I remember reading it somewhere a couple months ago.  All of their big ones (3D World, DKC: TF, MK8, Smash, Bayo 2, etc.) will be anyway.

#262335 Gamespot DKTF Preview.... Nintendo take notice!

Posted by Thrash13 on 19 December 2013 - 01:30 PM in Wii U Games and Software

And game spot just awarded link between worlds game of the year. No, not 3ds game of the year, not portable game of the year. Game of the year.

LOL, nice call on reading my post.  That comment made you look pretty stupid eh? ;-)

Honestly, I'm sorta with Thrash.

What this is sounding like to me is another person whining that Retro isn't making Metroid or another dudebro shooter, and taking it out on DKC:TF.

That was exactly my point.  It just gets old, and trust me, I read plenty of websites around the internet.  And from what I've seen, and it's no real shocker to anyone else who reads articles, Gamespot has been ridiculously tough on the Wii U.  Some of it is warranted, but with this one they are just reaching.  Whether or not the game is what everyone wanted from Retro is beside the point.  If we weren't getting a new Donkey Kong for Wii U, Gamespot would probably gripe about that too saying it's a dumb move not to make one of Nintendo's staple games for a struggling system.  It's just absurd.  I didn't mean to rub anyone the wrong way, but it's the way it goes sometimes. LOL

#262294 Gamespot DKTF Preview.... Nintendo take notice!

Posted by Thrash13 on 19 December 2013 - 06:46 AM in Wii U Games and Software

First off, it's Gamespot.  That makes the article "blah" as far as I'm concerned.  They pick every opportunity they have to trash what Nintendo is doing with the Wii U.  Just go over to IGN and see how they feel about DKC: TF.  It's quite the opposite reaction.  Anyone who has watched videos of this game can tell it's going to be another great game in the series.  Retro did what they did, and it's in the past.  And on top of that, they did a damn good job from what I've seen so far.  And besides, Nintendo would get bashed endlessly if there wasn't a Donkey Kong game for the Wii U.  It goes both ways people.  SMH.

#262240 Nintendo Direct 12/18 for Spring 2014 Wii U , 3DS

Posted by Thrash13 on 18 December 2013 - 09:21 PM in Wii U Games and Software

This Direct was very solid, and I'm happy they gave the Wii U a lot of focus. I probably won't get the Hyrule Warriors game, but I'm happy for everyone who's excited for it.

Sonic Lost World got pretty crappy reviews, but I'm much more willing to give it a shot after the patch and new DLC levels. Kudos to SEGA.

Dr. Luigi isn't necessarily my type of game, but my wife already has her sights on it. I have to admit I was hoping for a Luigi's Mansion Wii U announcement instead, but Dr. Luigi looks pretty good! And I'm still hopeful we'll get LM in the future.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze looks better every time we see new footage, and I can't wait to play it in a couple months. Retro did an amazing job in making that game look like true next gen at its best.

Lastly, Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. Wii U look outstanding! I'll get MK8 day one, and I might even end up getting Smash Bros. It's growing on me by the week. These two games along with DKC: TF are going to give the a Wii U a great boost in 2014. I just wish we had release dates for MK8 and Smash Bros.

#262234 EA give us a decent FIFA game

Posted by Thrash13 on 18 December 2013 - 09:07 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm all for more sports games on the Wii U. I really want a deep golf game, but a good soccer game would be nice as well. I'm a bigger fan of FIFA, but the PES series could sneak in and make things happen on the Wii U by being the only soccer game on the console. We'll see how things go in the future, but I'm hopeful a few decent sports games will come to Wii U.

#262229 Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is 1080p/60 FPS

Posted by Thrash13 on 18 December 2013 - 08:57 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Game looks stunning on HD Youtube but playing on your TV will look even better.

I agree 100%! I'm extremely excited for this game to be released. Mario Kart 8 is at the top of my list, but this one is right there with it. I thought I remembered them saying this would be 1080/60, and I'm glad that's confirmed!

Some people are upset we've gotten so much info on this game instead of other games, but I'm just fine with it. It looks better every time we get new footage, news, etc.

#261844 Nintendo Direct 12/18 for Spring 2014 Wii U , 3DS

Posted by Thrash13 on 17 December 2013 - 07:12 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm definitely expecting footage of DKC:TF and MK8 for the Wii U, and anything more will be a surprise.  I'll take a surprise or two though, lol.

As far as the 3DS goes, I'm sure we'll get some footage of the Kirby game.  I'm always excited about the Directs either way, even though we usually end up griping more than praising. Haha

#260593 RTS games on wiiU

Posted by Thrash13 on 11 December 2013 - 06:31 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I want Rollercoaster Tycoon on the Wii U.

Rollercoaster Tycoon would be amazing on the Wii U.  Zoo Tycoon is exclusive to Microsoft though, I'll be surprised if they don't get a Rollercoaster Tycoon at some point in the near future as well.  You never know though.

#260566 Nintendo: Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros coming in Spring 2014

Posted by Thrash13 on 11 December 2013 - 03:04 PM in Wii U Games and Software

The "Smash Bros in spring 2014" rumor was confirmed to be false by Nintendo.  It simply has a release date of 2014 now, so it's anyone's guess as to when we will see it.  It won't surprise me if it's Nintendo's big holiday 2014 title because it's going to be pretty huge for Nintendo fans and fans of other consoles.  It will give me plenty of time to focus on DKC and MK8 at least.

BTW, I'm liking the Mario Kart graphic at the top of the forum!

#260486 Mario Kart 8

Posted by Thrash13 on 11 December 2013 - 07:45 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'd love to see footage of some new levels, but I just honestly want an official release date.  I know this game is going to be great, and I know it will be a day one purchase for me.  I just want to know when we'll be getting it, but any new info and/or media is always welcome!

#258778 VGX Awards: Nintendo may be appearing

Posted by Thrash13 on 03 December 2013 - 12:09 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere he is going to be there to make an announcement, but I'm not 100% sure.  If he does make an announcement, it's a pretty safe bet it will be about MK8, Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS, or Zelda Wii U.  That's probably the safe route anyway, although it will be pretty cool if he announces something completely new and exciting.  I'm definitely ready for this year's VGX.

#257902 Year of Luigi Holiday Bundles For Wii U and 3DS

Posted by Thrash13 on 25 November 2013 - 04:53 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I still need to get Dark Moon, but they missed an opportunity to release a Luigi 3DS XL. The Colbalt Blue one still looks nice though.

Yeah, I would've preferred a Luigi's Mansion 3DSXL bundle instead.  But I'll take what I can get, and hopefully the 3DS isn't too much worse than the XL.  My son won't know the difference at least, lol.

#257862 Year of Luigi Holiday Bundles For Wii U and 3DS

Posted by Thrash13 on 25 November 2013 - 08:34 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm getting the Luigi's Mansion 3DS bundle for my son for Christmas.  It's $149.99 at Best Buy this Thursday, and I'm interested in playing that one myself. LOL.  I'm getting him Mario Kart 7 as well because that's the one he wants the most.  I'm pretty excited to get a 3DS, Luigi's Mansion, and MK7 for under $200.

#257179 Amazon.com Best Sellers in Video Games #1 Super Mario 3D World

Posted by Thrash13 on 20 November 2013 - 03:48 PM in Wii U Games and Software

This is great news any way you look at it, but I'm also very interested to see how the Wii U sales are going.  It's pretty obvious this game will move some units, but will it move enough to make a true impact?  That's what I want to know!

BTW, that graphic is outstanding! LOL

#256977 Super Mario 3D World receives 8 10/10s, get hype

Posted by Thrash13 on 19 November 2013 - 10:43 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Official Nintendo Magazine gave it a 93% which is crazily one of the lowest scores it has received so far.  It's one thing to see a great review from one or two sites, but when all of them are saying the same exact thing, it means something.  This game is going to be a game changer for the Wii U, and it's going to go down as one of the best ever.
