#16760 Your favorite game that no one plays

Posted by Droenix on 24 July 2011 - 12:17 PM in General Gaming

I don't think anyone's played this game really, but it's one of my favorites and is a big game from my childhood that I used to play with my mom a lot. The game is Pokemon Puzzle League for the Nintendo 64.

#8861 Should I buy this gaming pc?

Posted by Droenix on 18 June 2011 - 02:55 PM in General Gaming

I don't think he'll be disappointed with his PC. You'll only be disappointed if you set your ambitions WAY too high.

I'm still running a Q6600 Processor, 4 DDR2 gigs of RAM, an 8800GTOC BFG and I'm still happy with it. (I do plan to upgrade my processor and video card eventually though)

#8726 Should I buy this gaming pc?

Posted by Droenix on 18 June 2011 - 08:18 AM in General Gaming

Also, how nesascary is the 500w PSU? Would a 400w one be fine or should i definately upgrade it?

I think it's probably pretty necessary, as I just went on Newegg and it says "500 Watt or greater power supply recommended", so I'd say it's probably a good idea to get one if possible.

#8703 Origin of your username

Posted by Droenix on 18 June 2011 - 07:41 AM in The Café

I combined the mythical creatures Dragon and Phoenix together when I was 11 and started using that for my online identity. It's pretty unique as well, I looked it up before and a German guy was the only one who used it before back in 2004 for some website. I've tried to change my name numerous times, but I've always come back to this name.

#8702 A Nintendo MMO

Posted by Droenix on 18 June 2011 - 07:38 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I think a new IP for a Nintendo MMO would be pretty amazing, but I think Animal Crossing could work perfectly for an MMO almost. Although, if you think about it, it kind of is one already. Albeit, not in the traditioal MMO sense, where you level up and fight enemies, but in a more social kind of MMO. It'd be unique and would be a nice relaxing game for the core players and enjoyable for the casual players as well.

#8701 Play Alone Or With Friends?

Posted by Droenix on 18 June 2011 - 07:35 AM in General Gaming

With this generation of gaming, the local co-op gameplay really was killed because of all of the exclusive online only multiplayer that developers on certain consoles to be going. Before this generation, I would go to my friend's house and vice-a-verse and we'd play games together all the time, it was wicked fun. Too bad that all changed and now we just play together on the PC sometimes and sometimes in person.

So, yeah I prefer playing with friends more than I do playing alone, although it does depend on the game and whether it has a multiplayer mode or not, no one really likes to just watch their friend play through a single-player game while you sit back and watch them play it.

#8497 Animal Crossing 3DS

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 06:55 PM in General Gaming

I felt that Animal Crossing for the GameCube was the best in the series. I absolutely couldn't stand Animal Crossing: Wild World, because they took the core out of Animal Crossing. No hills, no holidays, share a house, and not to mention, the music & graphics were very scratchy. I felt that it was an absolute downgrade. Then once Animal Crossing: City Folk/ Let's Go to the City came out, I felt that it was most definitely improved from AC:WW, but nothing beat the original Animal Crossing. Though, I feel like this Animal Crossing most certainly has the potential for averaging the same warm experience as I did with the original Animal Crossing.

Completely agree with you here. If they decide to bring back the NES games into here, I think everyone will be incredibly happy! But, I doubt they will, since they have their shopping channel now... Gamecube version was definitely the best version and for me personally was the one I played the most. I remember the first night I got the game, I stayed up collecting seashells from the shore, selling them, saving my game, then coming back on to do that over and over again. I think I was close to paying off my first debt by doing just that in the first night. Great game!

#8496 Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) Thread

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 06:52 PM in General Gaming

If they do, that kind of sucks, but it's not that bad, especially because I want to play this game SO badly! Been pumped up for this game for 2 years, definitely want a release date ASAP!

#8477 The Wii U does NOT stand upright! :O

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 05:47 PM in Wii U Hardware

It doesn't bother me at all that it doesn't stand upright, as I've always laid my consoles flat before this generation, so I'm used to have it lay flat. I think it looks sleeker that way as well, but it all depends on the form factor of the console.

#8476 Your favorite video game character?

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 05:44 PM in General Gaming

This is such a tough choice for me... It really is...

As a kid I loved to root for the bad guys (mostly because the good guys always won and I thought that was unfair, especially because of Pokemon... I wanted Team Rocket to win AT LEAST ONCE! So, I really liked Bowser and thought he was pretty cool. Then other character started coming along and they were flashy and just generally AMAZING, like Dante from Devil May Cry, any Keyblade wielder from Kingdom Hearts, etc. I guess I'll just wing it and say who I think my favorite video game character is.

That would be Bowser.

#8471 Wii U Colours?

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 05:37 PM in Wii U Hardware

I would just love to see some playful colors, not just the traditional white and black that we see now. Go back to the Gamecube era and offer colors like Orange and stuff, I'd be really impressed if they did that.

#8468 Your favorite game that no one plays

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 05:32 PM in General Gaming

I don't really know if this is underrated or just not recognized as much, but I think The World Ends With You, could be considered a gem that was missed by many. It really was a stunning game, with stunning audio (my opinion at least) and an excellent combat system. I also like the storyline, unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it though... I really would love a sequel.

#8463 Weekly Debate

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 05:27 PM in The Café

The War on Terrorism is a pointless war and creating economic problems for the United States and other European countries. We should just let the Middle East solve their own problems and if they can't, so be it. When the United Nations was created, the United States could no longer stay neutral to the rest of the world's problems and thus we're expected to help out other countries, when we ourselves have other major problems to worry about.

I can understand why we went after al Qaeda in the first place, but it's not worth spending hundreds of billions of dollars over. In fact, I believe we're also stepping in the wrong direction when it's coming to nuclear technology. Nuclear power is a very strong source of energy and now that the world is worried about a similar situation occurring in their country because of what happened to Japan, I feel that we are stepping backwards and not moving forwards. I can understand why countries would be afraid to use it, as it's fatal when it's unconfined, but why waste such a useful resource? Just my thoughts on the debate topic and another topic I decided just to throw in.

#8382 Should I buy this gaming pc?

Posted by Droenix on 17 June 2011 - 02:59 PM in General Gaming

Meh, he won't have that much of problems honestly. Sure, a good processor is excellent to have, but I don't think it will bottleneck his GPU performance at all. However, I think you may want to go for a Power Supply (PSU) with more wattage, than the 400W one. If you can shell out a bit more cash, go for the 500W at least.

Hope you enjoy the PC man!

#7935 People Getting ZeldaOOT Early??!!!

Posted by Droenix on 16 June 2011 - 09:16 PM in General Gaming

I still can't decide if I should get a Nintendo 3DS for my birthday (June 22nd) or if I should get something else... I mean, is it worth getting at $250?

I want to play this game as I was never able to play it on the N64. Hmm... decisions, decisions...

#7916 Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) Thread

Posted by Droenix on 16 June 2011 - 07:44 PM in General Gaming

I would be interested, but it will require Orgin, EA's new crpatastic download service to run it.

If i were to play, I'd be a smuggeler

You can also buy a retail copy and I assume you'll be able to just install from that and play from their launcher. I'm personally going to be playing a Sith Warrior, most likely the Marauder advanced class

#7844 Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) Thread

Posted by Droenix on 16 June 2011 - 04:26 PM in General Gaming

I just wanted to see who on here is interested in playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. SWTOR, is an MMO game set in the Star Wars Universe thousands of years before the Rise of the Galactic Empire, where the Sith are a formidable foe to the Republic. It is being made by Bioware and is slated to be released sometime this year. (No release date at E3 made me sad... :D ) Just a small description for those that don't know what it is.

So, what class are you guys interested in?

#6472 Animal Crossing 3DS

Posted by Droenix on 14 June 2011 - 06:56 PM in General Gaming

Yeah, that's true. I read that you'll be playing mayor this time around... I'm going to miss Tortimer :D

But I think this really could make this game feel different compared to the past three, as mayor you will of course be expected to solve problems, but could you also upgrade the town and choose where things actually go? That would be pretty awesome to decide where everything will end up being, even the upgrades!

#6470 Video Recording/YouTube Channel?

Posted by Droenix on 14 June 2011 - 06:55 PM in Wii U Hardware

That is an awesome idea! I agree with you 100% except for 1 things. The only problem is that the controller would have to have an outward facing camera, and as far as I know it doesn't. So that may complicate things a tad bit. But still something Nintendo needs to consider :D

Why would it need an outward facing camera, if it's going to record the gameplay from the console or controller itself? The way FRAPS works and other capture cards is what I mean.

#6468 Animal Crossing Wii U

Posted by Droenix on 14 June 2011 - 06:52 PM in Wii U Games and Software

AC: GC had the most badass singleplayer.

Completely 100% agree, the past two games felt stale compared to AC:GC, I remember me, my mom and my brother would play and had a blast!

#6439 Animal Crossing 3DS

Posted by Droenix on 14 June 2011 - 06:05 PM in General Gaming

Well, I can barely comment on this, because it hasn't been released yet other than for some screenshots and a couple of preview videos. Your character being taller? Ehh, I don't know how I feel about that, but I'll probably get used to it.

#6434 Animal Crossing Wii U

Posted by Droenix on 14 June 2011 - 06:03 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I really hope they bring back the option to ask to do favors for your neighbors, instead of just randomly timed events. I miss the original Animal Crossing for the GC so much!

#6113 Nintendo's first fail...

Posted by Droenix on 14 June 2011 - 12:49 PM in Wii U Hardware

Do you guys really care if they show oth console gameplay? Like the Wii U isn't planned to come out for another year! Do you really think third party publishers really had enough time to crank out enough of a full game to display? Now, let's get serious. That trailer wasnt to show how powerful, or how good the new console games look, it was to show what games were coming to the Wii u. It's different, not a mistake

To add to that as well, the games don't start to look their best until near the end of the console's life, since by then publishers know how to work with the hardware and have the technology to pump up the graphics a lot.

#6092 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Posted by Droenix on 14 June 2011 - 12:43 PM in The Café

I loved the kid shows when I was a kid, the kid shows today aren't bad either. But My Little Pony has such a huge following on 4chan. I don't know if mentioning 4chan here is taboo, so if it is, I apologize.
