#50475 Count until. Pony vs. Non-pony edition.

Posted by zoop on 01 January 2012 - 07:20 PM in Roleplay and Forum Games

My friends, I have traveled both far and wide across the vast collective internet to stand here amongst your esteemed and venerated number today, to share with you a very important message.

Guys. Look at the one and only rule on page one. I'll let zoop off since he doesn't have an avatar yet.

Oh bother, I knew I was forgetting something. I join new forums so rarely that I forgot too set the thing. My sincererst apologies.

... and I suppose this response makes it one pony.

... I suppose since I've gone through the trouble of making an account here I should have the courtesy to introduce myself.

Greetings, salutations, good day, and all of that various assorted nonsense.

With that out of the way, please allow me to introduce myself; I am zoop. I have stumbled upon this fine corner of the internet after a certain individual (who, I can assure you, will remain anonymous) lamented that he didn't seem to be appreciated by anyone here. It is my sincerest hope that we can, as a collective whole, all come together and not appreciate him together as one big family.

I kid, I kid.

To speak upon my own person, I consider myself to be an arrogant, spiteful, conceited, and at least somewhat narcissistic twit; I consider my status as being of such to be a fact of life, despite the fact that I've recently ran into a decent number of individuals that have attempted to convince me otherwise. Personally, I think they're all quite insane.

As I'm sure that the avatar (and soon-to-be-signature) has implied, I am indeed a member of the dread pony collective; but fear not - I am not the sort to push my unhealthy obsessions on to others, be it religious, political, of ponious.

In addition to watching - and somehow enjoying - cartoons made for little girls, I am also a fan of various and assorted vidya games and other such things.

And that is me. While I do not know how active I'll be on this side of Azuras, I may float in and haunt the place from time to time when I need a break from the candy-colored equines.

Welcome to the forum. You know me. I know you do. Right?

It took me a few minutes.

The different username and avatar threw me off.

And yes, I suppose you wouldn't have any trouble finding me; you do know where I 'work' so to speak, don't you. :D

Hm. Familiar topic, this is. ;)

Once upon a time (roughly 1999 AD, just prior to the day of lavos) I used the handle Zophar in all of my online gaming endeavors.

I eventually got tired of people asking me "HEY ARE YOU THE DUDE THAT RUNS THAT SWEET EMULATOR SITE???" and, being in the "numbers as letters are kewl" phase of my early teenage years, decided to change my name to Z0Phar to differentiate it a bit.

Eventually Z0Phar became Z0PharX (because, as we all know, capital Xs at the end of a handle increase said handle's coolness level by approximately eleventy billion percent), and all was well in the world, until I woke up one day and realized that I had slowly started to find the name to be completely and utterly ridiculous. I'm not sure, but I think it was roughly around the time that I grew up.

By that point most of my online buddies had taken to calling me Zoop, rather than "Zo far Ecks" in voice chat. I thought it sounded amusing when said outloud, and so picked it up as my handle.

TL;DR ZOOP SOUNDS FUNNY WHEN YOU SAY IT

This may or may not have been a cross-post from another forum. I admit to nothing.

Thank you for the welcomes. ;)

I didn't read any of the intro, it's night here, don't read at night.

Alas, as a long time purveyor of TL;DR material, I am well used to such treatment. I... promise not to cry.

And I'll ask you what games you are looking forward to this year on whatever systems you may have, so what games are you looking forward to this year zoop?

You know, the sad thing is... at this point I've been burned by so many games that I pretty much just assume that I'll hate everything until I've had a chance to play it. With that in mind...

• Tribes Ascend (PC)
Currently in the mostly open beta, and loving it! I'm a long time fan of tribes, and while the early alpha version I tried months ago wasn't appealing to me at all, Hi-Rez has done a good job of fixing the game up since then.

• SSX (Multi)
I assumed the worst, I was certain that EA would bungle this, and that the game would be unplayable at best... thankfully I was proven wrong. I spent more time playing this at PAX than I spent wasting waiting in line for the worthless Halo 4 event, which is saying a fair bit.

Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code 1.07 (PC)
French Bread decided to challenge Capcom for the right to claim that they have the most ridiculous title for a fighting game ever. Technically I'm not looking forward to it at this point given that it came out two days or so ago, but I waited long enough for it that it deserves an honorable mentinon here. ^_^

As for things I'm cautiously optomistic about... Soul Calibur 5, Dead or Alive 5, whatever the new Tony Hawk was called, and I'm sure a few games that I'm forgetting.
