The thing is, I won't have the money to get a Wii U for a few weeks until I get paid.
What's the best advice on getting a Wii U without pre-ordering? When I got the Wii in 2006 I waited in line at Walmart all day. Is there a better option? I'm not good at shopping, so, seriously need some suggestions here.

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

Hard to know I would ask all the local reatailers if they will have any available other than pre orders.I queued all night for a wii and refused a large amount of money for it there and then. Those consoles were scarce as I can remember a console being. However things have moved on since then, nintendo know with xmas coming no stock equals no sale so rest assured there will be a big push to get more wii u to the shops.I cant see there being huge shortages. If you have the money for launch day I would like I said earlier ask the local stores if any stock will be in store apart from pre orders. Also maybe concentrate on the places that arent opening at midnight as they may be less obvious to your fellow hunters.
Good luck ! let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your advice,. I'll try to keep you guys posted!

Oh, wait, is this that song? No?
I'll just shuffle back to my closet then. :walks away in shame:
On Topic: You're really just going to have to wait it out. Wait till you've saved enough cash, then frantically search for one to your hearts' content.

1. Buy a Wii U for like 500-800 dollars off ebay/amazon
2. Wait a few months...

If you go to Walmart, I imagine they'll take a non-refundable deposit from you, and ask for your details, and then you pay the rest of the amount at release.

I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.

The least you can deposit is 50 bucks at EB Games/GameStop for a console pre-order. Put that down for now (if you can find somewhere that still has pre-orders) if you think you might have the money for the launch day. And once it gets closer to launch, you can always cancel and if they don't give you your deposit just keep it on your account or put it on a giftcard to use later.
Deepends if you're a pro member, mines was $25 at Gamestop.
