well i highly doubt the wii 2 will be in 3d as for the nintendo 3ds the glasses free effect was the key seller whereas if the wii 2 was in 3d only people who have the very expensive 3d tvs could see it in 3d so i doubt it will be in 3d ;)

Do you think they will use the same elements that used In the 3ds? I mean, 3d without the glasses? Do you think they will improve the 3d effect even more?

No. They cannot make it like the 3DS. The 3DS has a small screen that has the tech for glasses-less 3D.
They can't do that unless they start selling TVs or screen cover thingies with the console, and that's sure as hell not going to happen.
glasses-less TVs are coming soon but they won't be mainstream for a while.
The console will support 3D (like wii and GC) but it won't be one of the selling points they market it on.
You know what guys?
It's amazing how the the human mind does not process the the fact I used the word "the" twice in a row in this sentence.

I think if the 3DS takes off as well as it does then i think 3D glasses free TV's may eventually in the next 2-4 years invade everyones homes the way HD tv's have. If they are to make the Wii successor 3D then have it also in 2D in the settings or analog slider like the 3DS in the controller and just do what the PS3 did and have a HDMI output and a Scart output, so the Wii 2 could have 3D output HDMI and Scart this will make it the ultimate console for the future. Also either have similar controller or full body suite and some form of camera then you are truly immersed in the game.

I doubt it. Nintendo would really need EVERYONE to have a Glassesless 3D TVs. Or sell some *definitely expensive* screen cover. If they do make it 3D, what they would have to do. Is have 3D as an option.

Hey guys, I've got an idea. Imagine if they do a screen like this one and add pixel columns for each eye like for the 3DS. OLED screens are really thin and flexible, maybe they might just put it into the SWCES64 package. They could even release different versions that differ in size, so you could put them on your TV for example. If they make the OLED translucent, you can let it on your TV and it wouldn't interfere with the normal usage. You also could put it on your wall or on the floor - the only problem would be the sweet spot.

As much as I would love to see 3D AMOLED screen come with the Wii 2, I think the cost of including one with every single Wii 2 will be prohibitively expensive. Reggie already said that they're not going to be focusing on 3D with the console. Doesn't mean 3D is not gonna happen, but I'm 99% sure it does mean they're not going to be including any 3D gimmickry of any kind in the box.

I doubt they will include a 3D screen with every Wii 2, as it would be very expensive for Nintendo. I also don't think that everyone would want a 3D screen as well as a TV as it would take up too much space. I think that Nintendo will release games in 2D versions, and in 3D form for the people who have 3D televisions.

No there most likely won't be 3d as for the 3ds they could add an extra screen and create the 3d effect but to do it with the wii 2 then they would have to rely on people having 3d tvs or package a 3d screen along with the console so I doubt it will... unless the wii 2 ends up like what some people think it may look like

http://www.biotele.c...es/nin_wii2.jpg

with a small screen or something similar then there could be a possibility but other than that no

Nintendo it seems at least don't appear to be considering the idea of focusing on 3D in the Wii's successor. Some other visual or control based hook will likely be added to give the Wii's successor the same sort of viral appeal Nintendo is trying to give the 3DS with its glasses-less 3D screen. The only idea I can think of that they could add that would give a similar experience as 3D without depending on consumers buying an expensive new TV is through head tracking VR displays through the same sort of camera technology already used in the DS, 3DS, and Wii remote. The problem is that it would be a very personal experience as only one individual at a time could benefit from the effect.

Iwata said the wii u is capable to do 3d but it is not a main focus of Nintendo. So it is just a matter of developer choosing to do it.

It is able to do 3D, but their main focus for 3D is obvious, 3DS.

It's like zxride said, they did say that it will support 3DTVs, but it won't be their main focus.

It supports 3D, but Nintendo says they won't include it in their first party games anytime soon.

We already had two topics on the Wii U and 3D (and one of them was the second topic ever started on this forum). I've merged them together.

For the record, the Wii U is fully capable of 3D, and here's a hard source confirming it: http://wiiugo.com/wi...port-3d-output/

Now, I kindly ask that you all stop re-answering the same question. Nothing but clutter's gonna come out of it.

Iwata said Wii U is 3d, but he also said they weren't focusing on 3d until 3DTV's were more common in households.

As soon as 3DTVs start kicking Nintendo will start supporting 3D on the Wii U big time, and so will third parties.
