Lol I didn't expect to see Sony fans here, and I'm not happy to see a fanboy war here too. How about we all agree the Wii U will be a very capable machine and that Sony may save the Playstation brand with PS4 and even with Vita if they play their cards right. After all I think thanks to the PS brands many of Sony's other products have been popularized on the market, like DVD and Blu-ray players. It seems they want to popularize 3D TVs now.

Fanboy war? I'm not warring with anybody...I'm presenting actual facts.

Also, unless 3D TVs go the way of HD TVs (AKA, easier/cheaper to manufacture) and maybe lose the stupid $100 per pair glasses...they'll catch on.

IMO, next gen's console power will be:

Microsoft has the "PS2" of the generation (in power, not sales)
and Nintendo and Sony's consoles are reaaaally close together in power.

i understand your point but mines was that as long as there is a whole sony corporation they would never let there gaming department go out of business unless they choose for it to end. im pretty sure the gaming division gets funds from its parent company every now and then.

yes there is a difference the difference is nintendo will never have as much money or be bigger than microsoft, and sony because they only make games while sony and microsoft are multimedia corporations .

were slowly getting closer and closer to agreement :P i agree totally and i never said their gaming division would go bust, but its budget will be cut and support from other divisions will be cut and trust will be weakened. the proof, they said theyre not going to invest heavily in ps4. i see that as a way of saying: our budget is cut due to our previous heavy losses, and for the meantime we will be going the less tech heavy route to earn money back before the 9th gen of consoles.

The first 15 years of gaming would like a word with you. And you do realize that it was priced the same as the Vita...and it still sold better, right?

Uh...it stopped getting those "crappy multiplatform" titles back in 2008, when Spiderman: Web of Shadows came out.

It sold only around 425k units on Christmas holiday. That is dismal sales, compared to the 3DS's released in FEBURARY with NO "good games" (except maybe professor layton) and it still outsold it by almost 275k units. (Also, these figures are for JAPAN ONLY before you go pouting about the 3DS's sales being worldwide.)

From a units sold perspective, the PS3 wasn't a flop at all. From a profit perspective, it's a nightmare.

It also isn't the fact that Sony can't lose that money, it's the fact that whenever a branch becomes very, very unprofitable, companies tend to cut branches off.

Also, good job on trying to make your post unquoteable.

you are taking this way to personal because i wouldnt intentionally make a post unquoteable when i dont even know how to do it

anyway

1 yes it was priced the same as the vita you are correct would it have succeded at that price currently i think me and you both know that answer

2 once again wrong toy story, wwe, syphon filter, lord of the rings, all 2010 titles and they would like a word with you

3 what you fail to metion is that it sold 425k in japan while the 3ds is out at a lower price with mario and monster hunter compared to the 3ds feburary sales with no competition.

as far as sony keeping there game division around i can gurantee you that when your kids are born there will be a playstation around.

1. Glad we can agree on something.

2. Well, nice to see it's still getting some support. Even if it is only about 8 games a year.

3. What you seem to forget is that the Vita launched with a ton of 'awesome titles'. Which if they were truly that awesome, Japan would have been all over it.

As far as Sony keeping their game division, I'm not saying that they're for sure going to die, but if they keep going on this path that they're going...their gaming department WILL die.
