  • Wii U will have individual account system rather than previous per hardware, hence several users per hardware unit
  • Still planning offerig DLC but need more time to do more feasability study on market and needs
  • The nfc will be planned internationally for easy settlement too
  • WiiU before xmas, have prepaired appropriate titles for launch, wiiU will have NFC enabling easy settlement and figurine connection
  • Have built pillar for digital, now able to take risk, think once done and bottlenecks removed can change perceptions
  • Miyamoto- on WiiU it has to be next step, network has to have totally new cooncept to be different
  • Near Field Communication technology will be able to make the Tablet connect to the Wii U console much easier by tapping the tablet against the console (http://www.gamexplai...er-syncing.html)
  • WiiU - won't just be about better graphics, some games like zelda graphics will be important
  • Planning asia for product, local partners yet to announce and still issues of copyright
  • Likes the amazon recommendation system, wants to improve and allow access by others
3DS news
  • 200 titles coming for 3ds, 3ds has 60% connected to internet, want to expand digital offering but at infant stage now
  • 3ds- able to do well in jp but in eu/us consumers were more cautions and titles delayed by us and 3rd party impacted
  • Kokuniki on 3ds enables sharing of diary, have seen 10m(1m perhaps) diaries exchanged in 3wks, female popular user
  • Say 3rd year of 3ds is crucial to determine ultimate sw and hw potential
  • Iwata- priority is to satisfy existing 3ds users, am preparing titles that will expand user base combined with network
Both
  • Digital - if super mario user gets tired then can sell digitally extra which will drive extra rev.
  • Higher communication amongst users, satisfaction could rise and hardware install base could rise
  • Path to profits is improve 3ds and focus on software, super mario titles will drive a lot of profitability
  • Digital is not enemy to retail, digital won't be priced so it cannibalises packaged, yet to decide and talk with partners
  • We should not decline 3rd parties if they want to offer item billing
  • Have learnt that shouldn't have stagnant periods between sooftware launches, can fill the gap, digital can extend the life of a title
  • Am looking at this and if continue then looooking at other strategies to benefit from this very social behaviour
  • This calendar year will announce several alliances/partnerships with external parties, previously not considered
  • Digital will be dramatic improve but not dramatic for sales/profits next yr
Other
  • Xenoblade for eu coming in april(wii), spirit camera getting april 13 launch in usa and eu 2012 but it hasn't sold well in first week in jp
  • Miyamoto- not retirement but allocating time to "chatting" to the young developers
  • Trying to teach those who haven't done development before, then get new ideas
  • Iwata- critical of wired mag story on miyamoto, message should have been miyamoto always consider retirement
  • But for juniors he is not hands on, they watch him. Miyamoto saying his basic work is to create big hit

This is all good news.
Especially the account and the 200 titles thing.

Sorry if this is dumb but.... NFC?
Also it looks like there is a LOT more random info in his twitter, will you update it once he's done? :P

On GoNintendo, some of this information is shown. There, NFC is shown as near field communication. I have no idea what that is. I also don't know what is meant by easy settlement.

Also, this information is very interesting and exciting.

Basically it means that instead of synicing the Upad, all you have to do is tap it against the Wii U console and it will sync. Google phones already do this. You can make wireless payments by tapping a mastercard terminal with your Android Phone.

Ok, thank you for that information.

I wouldn't really mind having to sync the remote with the Wii U, but this would definitely more bettererer simply do to the fact that it is cool.

Yay, that means the next Zelda won't pull a Wind Waker on us! Make that tech demo a reality Nintendo!

It's about time they get it. Some games like Mario and Pikmin, etc, don't need the high end graphics, they are about the gameplay. But games like Metroid and Zelda have to have the great graphics to help tell the story and pull the user in and make the player feel more immersed into Hyrule/whatever Samus is exploring.

Don't you mean US? EU has already had Xenoblade since August last year (I should know, I got it at launch).

It can be put into toys and cards too so that when they come into contact an image will spawn. So basically....

YU-GI-OH FOR THE WII U! REAL MONSTERS WILL SPAWN ON THE TABLET WHEN YOU PLACE THE TABLET ON THE CARD!!!!!!

I would love that actually. This much information for the Wii U is exciting. I wonder what more info will be released as we get closer to E3.

It might be. They could potentially use the game as a way to show of the features on the Wii U.

The Wii U is finally starting to redeem itself from it's shoddy unveiling. Whether Nintendo have finally got with the times and then some will be revealed at the next E3. Bring it on.
