I think we're going to be all right this year with what all the amazing Wii U and 3DS games.

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

I certainly agree with the sentiment of the OP. It would increase my own sense of positive expectation if very small snippets of teaser artwork, or perhaps cryptic tweets, were slowly-but-steadily released to the webernet to keep us uber-fans salivating. I think that this kind of info would also do good things for the marketing of the system at large (speading awareness of new and intriguing gaming concepts to pique curiosity), while allowing Nintendo to keep their oh-so-precious focus on games.

I do agree, of course, that the ultra-high-expectation crowd is an ultra minority right now. My brother, to judge by the amount of money that he has spent on Nintendo products, would certainly seem to be a big Ninty fan... but he frequently has to be reminded about what the WiiU even is when I bring it up in conversation... for the majority of gamers, it seems that the system really isn't on the radar at this point.

I suppose this could be used to support both sides of the argument. On the one hand, lack of awareness about the product might mean that Nintendo doesn't have to worry about frustrated expectations (because they don't exist). On the other hand, lack of awareness about the product might mean that Nintendo really ought to work on generating some real buzz. Of course, one could always argue that the best time to do that is, in fact, a couple of months before release...

When nintendo started with the nes and then the snes knowbody cared about specs, it was 8bit or 16bit, us gamers didnt really care, but in this day and age we (the customers who keep them in buisness) want to know what we are buying, if we buy a phone we wanna about the full specs, a lap top, a tablet, a car even microwave we all know a lot more about technology and thats how we make our deccisions before buying. Nintendo still are run buy the guys from the early years of gaming when we wernt to bothered and i have a horrible feeling they still think we, the customer dont care, i agree with the fact there making an effort wwith online and inovation but nintendo please dont be stuburn, give the developers enough grunt to keep making games for the next 5-7 years and your customers a machine we are not going to be hiding away in 2 years when the other 2 release there new machines!

I agree completely. I had this feeling going into E3 last year. Nintendo let to many rumors and speculation build up, it left me going into E3 completely clueless but at the same time expecting SO MUCH that it was inevitable that I would be let down.

It could be said that it's my fault for getting my hopes up, but as some people have been saying, some of these questions (hardware, online, price etc...) could have been taken care of before E3.

You went to E3?

Patience is a virtue. Rewind back to pre e3 2006 there was no examples of any games until a month out and still little was known but a few rumors some true some not but their conference was the best one that year even with inferior tech and there was not a single talk about what was under the hood with the big N. Rewind another year back the 360 was revealed e3 '05. Microsoft DIDN'T say anything through their briefing about the 360 system specs (don't believe me YouTube it) all they showed were games. The only company that likes to show what's under the hood is Sony but to a non techno savy they don't know what any of those numbers mean but it's a larger number than what the others have. Numbers mean Nothing it's all about the games and it going to be lots because there are some 3rd party devs ready to show what they've been up to and by this June we will appreciate what Nintendo has instore for us
Just a few more weeks guys we're almost there

No, lol I wish. I guess I worded it the wrong way, I meant that's how I was feeling in the months leading up to E3. Watching it of course.
