I just bought myself a Wii U for Christmas, but it´s not working with my old TV.

My TV has a cinch and scart input, but none of them work.

I tried all AV channels with every input, but it´s not working.

My TV is from DAEWOO, are there some TVs that don´t work?

Or what else could be the cause?

Sry for my bad English.

Get a new tv maybe. It sounds like a problem with the a/v ports in general.

Did you use the same AV cable as from the Wii? A HDMI to AV converter didn't work for me.

Y U READ THIS?...WHY IS THERE TEXT HERE? LOL WTF

I bought the cinch cable from ebay.

Can I sync my Wii U with the gamepad without TV?

I know this sounds quite silly, but did you set the Wii U's output to non HD? I didn't do this and wondered why it didn't work on my TV, lol.

There's only ... 4 symbols, and 4 slots for the symbols to go it, should only take a few dozen years to enter them all.
Or visit a friend over Christmas and borrow their TV.

Yeah, I'd suggest using the A/V cables that came with the Wii; they fit in the port on the back of the Wii U. If it still doesn't work at that point, I'd suggest just getting a new TV, or test out your Wii U with someone else's TV, like you were going to do. :)

Not really. Both the PS4 and XBone only have hdmi out. You can get a converter, but it probably won't be reliable.

Back to the Wii U, once the console is synced to the gamepad you can use the gamepad to change the video output settings. Unfortunately you can't change them before syncing the gamepad. Kind of a bad catch-22.

But if you have cinch (Composite?), there really should be a way to default to that. Does the manual say anything?

 a DAEWOO?

That's old man.

I'm guessing the resolution on the tv is a bit to low for the wii u.

It's probably time for a upgrade on tv. Get something with a hdmi port.
