So for anyone who has the Wii U already, or anyone who just knows a lot about the Wii U, how is the online? I'm used to playing on the 360 so how does it compare to that? I don't really expect it to be as good but I would just like to know about how easy it is to add friends, is there a party system and can you voice chat during games, things like that. Thanks a lot if you can help!

No party chat, from what I know adding friends words like PSN & XBL, but I didn't expect much more considering it's kind of standard for online experience to be a little bit dumbed down on consoles. I can't really say much though, Wii U releases in 2 days over here.

You can add people by using each others id's like the friend codes make friend requests on the miiverse which notifying you if someone added you and I think you can add people youv'e played with haven't tried it yet. As for the miiverse it's awesome you'll like it if you like formus and it is very friendly cause Nintendo is bann happy I haven't been banned but I did get a warning for not marking a post as a spoiler.

I dare say Nintendo's online services will never be on Par with the likes of sony or Xbox. It just isnt a high priority for nintendo at this point in time.

The main attraction is the miiverse. Nintendo did something great here. They created a social world within their product that has never been done on consoles. Its like a cross of facebook and twitter. Theres also communities for each game and app where people can help each other and fun. For the most part the community is really friendly and creative seeing random drawings pop up. You'll get a lot of laughs from it. Nintendo said they'll be exanding it even more. No party chat at the moment. Nintendo also stated they will try and do video chat while playing. Starfox anyone? Im typing this on my wii u so cant go into great detail. Best console ive ever owned. Nintendo is the only true gaming company left making consoles. M$ and Sony are more about the benjamins then for the love of gaming.

By the way, im no fanboy. Never owned a ds, gamecube, wii. I did have a ps3 and xbox.

M$ and Sony are more about the benjamins then for the love of gaming.

They all are equally more about the money. Their a business and not your friend. When any of the presidents on Nintendo were in charge or now Iwata Satoru, the first thing they think about upon waking up is how to get more money. Not "Oh I wonder how I can make the people love me", if that is to cross their mind it is more like, "I wounder how I can make people love me to increase my money flow". Not to mention the ideals of a Japanese person has little individualism as they keep to themselves (No talking to anyone in public in most cases) & are quiet busy. Friends in Japan are not really ones to come over and hang out, it is go to a place & pay money to later return home. Business even comes first before family mindset (You can be socially not accepted based off this) sort of like everyone is running for being governor of a state as your family sometimes can be gauged by the value of your employment, position, et certera. As free as their society may be it is quiet feudal in some aspects of their culture to the point they are not putting you first. Not saying this out of disrespect for Japan or it's people. All countries have pros and cons, the western world is not perfect. Though, in a way they are less likely to care about your end than their own. (People wonder why Japan has the highest suicide rate too). Even with the cultural polite behavior. What can you do, the world just is not perfect & Japan is not all magical like those Anime series that kids like to watch. (Shrugs)

I just wish those screenshots could be bigger & posted any where. It is quiet annoying that you can't really post reply images to show pathways in games like NSMBU. Because a picture is worth a thousand words. Not to mention the text character limit... Uggh

Edit: Not trying to sound like a fanboy of a console. (Because personally I perfer PC over consoles, but still enjoy them all). Though based off the networking ideals, if they did do it on either it would turn out better. Yet they sort of already have it going on in a sense for the PS3 or Vita. You can capture video & upload to YouTube from your PS3. PS Vita you can take screenshots & group message with tons of friends with images. All they really need is a wall and boom instant Miiverse.

they cannot all be equally about money, technically. Nintendo to me is the lesser of the three.

they cannot all be equally about money, technically. Nintendo to me is the lesser of the three.

Wii Balance Board (Used in like four game series)
Wii U Pro Controller works for X game and virtual console nope go get a classical controller. Because it is impossible to map a controller inputs to the same values of a Pro controller when you have the same bloody buttons & two joysticks. (Yeah, you have to boot into Wii Mode, yada yada. Though what console or virtual machine in its right mind is not at least designed with some form of mapping. Oh that is right Nintendo in order to get you to buy controllers. Hell even emulators on the PC you can map controllers in the best of them to anything. It just takes the programmer to do it.
Wii Speak, what a lovely expensive piece that was, you got to use it on like three games. Nintendo did not even attempt to push it other than their games or accept other mics into their games. Making you forced to buy it in order to play games with voice chat. Then the problem is you Animal Crossing being the main target.

Oh and what was that people always said on the Wii "Nintendo loves us because the prices of games are cheaper". Bollocks, the prices were cheaper because over half the games were bloody shovelware. No one really supported the console. Yet what are they charging now for games, 59.99 oh and not to mention Nintendo games prices pretty much stick to being inflated. New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 50USD after tax and the game came out "Release Date: November 15, 2009".

Handheld devices, as soon as they start to lower the price they jack out some new version of it making you want the new one for the upgrades. (Sure you don't need it per se, but you know you want it more. Specially if it was like the DS going to DSi where you got the store and DS phat could never get it. Making it about pointless to buy the older model). If not that the consoles or handhelds release a new color to skimp in on a bit more cash.

The point is Nintendo does exactly what other companies do. Their not your friends and are only after your cash. It even more is shown in their crappy DD service, where if you purchase something, a console goes *boom* you can not retrieve it on the new one. Call Nintendo, "Nintendo: Mama mia, nothing we can do, mawahahahaha". Also, no I am not out to get Nintendo, but no console company or any company is out to be your friend. Some might put on a mask and hire better customer support reps & rill you in with a hook of some kind, but they still just want in your wallet. It would be like saying State Farm was your friend because of their little hook, "Like a good neighbor State Farm is there" and acting all nice like.

Edit: To take the OP's question more into effect.

It was sort of said, but not in full details. Miiverse is a lot like twitter as you can follow or follow others. One other problem that could be fixed in it, is they need a community for say drawing pictures and random Q&A. Peoples questions about console related things get shoved into Mario or anything threads & sometimes unanswered. Then drawings of none related things sometimes get thrown about in wrong spots drowning out other game related items.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassins Creed III, Mass Effect 3, Trine 2(co-op), & Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed (I think has online multiplayer , someone correct me if I am wrong).

Um, okay.... Not exactly sure why your quoting me on that. Not a hundred percent sure here, but are you implying you wish images were bigger and/or people could reply with more images, due to your lack of knowledge of the pathway?

Edit: Sorry, just sort of bloody tired and your syntax is not working for me right now.

I have to disagree with a lot of people. I think online on the Wii U is far superior. It's all opinion though. Sony and Microsoft attack online from a universal stand point. I never cared for Xbox live and Sony took a pretty generic route. Nintendo do has come up with a system that feels catered to gamers. Just my 2 cents.

I can't say of x-boxes don't have it but it smokes Sonys which I do have songs ps3 takes for ever to download stuff when I heard of the 4 gig download I figured ther goes the day it took 2 hours my ps3 takes around 16 hours or more for 4gigs. And miiverse is excellent Sony and Microsoft are definetly going to do something similar can't blame them it's just a great thing and would be foolish not to do.
