PS4 social features available on WiiU?

For example remote play could be possible if Nintendo eventually set up a cloud service that allowed you to connect to your Wii U via the cloud and play off-tv mode via an internet connection.
You could also set up a remote play via invite I'm sure with a little update too as again surely it only requires a speedy internet connection rather than hardware.
PCs have had a resume feature even when 512MB of RAM was a decent amount to have in a PC, I'm sure with a little firmware update Nintendo could compete with a stand-by resume mode. I shouldn't matter how much RAM you have because all the PS4 is doing is pausing a game and then putting it'self to sleep. Surely Nintendo could (if it wanted to) easily build in a sleep function.
The only thing I'm not sure about is recording video. I know the Wii U can share screenshots, but I think video recording just wont cut it, unless it records straight to the SD card before being uploaded. I guess if they slimlined the OS down to 250MB, you could then use the remainder to upload video to the Miiverse server? Any ideas how Nintendo could replicate this feature?
Largest question of all, does anyone want to see these features replicated in the Miiverse?

I really hope we get video uploads for MiiVerse, I think after PS4 releases it's kind of needed.
The problem is how is it handling the background processing for video encoding? It would have to be able to offload that to something. Personally I think video upload is superfluous and will make it harder to find let's play videos on youtube.
I'd be more into a video file playing app or some sort of stream from pc app for video. Game record is nice to show off your skills but maybe a gimmic in the long run.
I would like to see a media streaming ability, so I can stream content from my PC, good call.

YES! I'd love to be able to stream videos like the media server on the PS3. Just Nintendo needs to charge for the app/upgrade so any codec/format licences are paid for. Also I'd love an MP3 playback app like my 3DS has, hell even an ability to stream my MP3s from my 3DS would be great

why would anyone want to stream videos of them playing a game ?
so they can show teh internetz that they are teh best gamerz evar. Seriously though, there are already enough lets play videos on Youtube because recording game footage is not a super complicated matter.

1) chat feature on the level of xbox 360 (or better if possible)
2) record video and upload video to miiverse/youtube
3) whatever else Nintendo wants to add to make it awesome
chat features come first though because they are way more practical and useful for gaming with friends (something Nintendo tries to promote anyway) but otherwise I think video streaming/recording would be a cool feature if they can implement it without decreasing system performance.

honestly I would rather see a universal chat feature over some of this stuff because It is honestly NOT a gimmick for any online multiplayer game.

I agree with cross chat

A live chat would be nice though. You know, like the one this website has.

I thought this was possible, sorta. Just pause your game, home, controller settings, display off. Good enough. But the console is still awake, huh. Honestly the whole sleep - resume feature is useless. -turn tv off or to another source- -go back-.PCs have had a resume feature even when 512MB of RAM was a decent amount to have in a PC, I'm sure with a little firmware update Nintendo could compete with a stand-by resume mode. You would have to make sure that the auto poweroff feature is turned off but yeah, this is pretty much achieving the same thing. It would be nice to have a hibernate feature though. I know that sometimes when I pause a game to do something I sometimes don't make it back within an hour.

It might be useless for the Wii U which uses very little power. However its HUGELY relevant for the PS4 where you would not only have a noisy fan buzzing away in the background (noisy compared to Wii U at least) but also likely pulling 200W+ at the wall.
You particularly would not want that in your bedroom or have it kicking out tons of heat on a hot day, if you aren't even using it at the time.
Some PCs in sleep mode use as much power as the Wii U playing games.

Now apart from recording video, I'm pretty sure that all social features on PS4 can be available on Wii U with a firmware upgrade an an android/iOS app.

I don't think the Wii U has enough RAM. They need to make the OS better first.
