Second Gamepad functionality

I'd personally like the ability for one gamepad to serve as a normal gamepad while another person can browse the web, or use Nintendo Tvii, or even browse the and use the eShop while you play (but not Miiverse because they could get you banned from communities by breaking lots of rules while you're oblivious playing a game). I know it'd be hard due to the CPU but it'd really be awesome if they pulled that off!

I heard that the framerate goes from 60FPS -> 30FPS when using two gamepads. Also, one player browsing web while other is playing the game is not possible. Sadly, the Wii U only has 2GB RAM, so to use the web while the game is playing would make the game have far too many lagspikes, and it would be a very unenjoyable game experience. I'd just like to see being able to play a game, where one player is versing the other both on gamepads. That's all I would need to buy one, as long as most or a lot of games support the feature. I'd love to see 2 Gamepads by the time of the SSB release
How would anyone know this? I don't think a single game has this functionality.
EDIT: Yet

Well it only makes sense. You have two gamepads now, and since the Wii U sends 60FPS to gamepad, if there is two, it'd need to send out two video signals now, the only way to do this is by splitting it. Therefore, 60/2 = 30.

Hmmm, there is quite a bit of what seems to be duplicated logic in the GPU, perhaps for this contingency.

Well if that's the case, then it may be able to support 60 on both. That'd be incredible if it did But I say not to get your hopes up too fast.

Agreed certainly. It would be interesting to see what they are able to pull off. I'd say if they showed a game using both and showed them running at 60fps along with the TV, it would definitely be a wow moment.

I swear there is an article somewhere where they said second gamepad would only run a game at 720p at 30 frames. HOWEVER if the GPU is based around that embedded chip (e6570?! or whatever it was) then that boasts the ability to stream to several monitors without loss of frame-rate or original resolution. So it could go either way

True but the problem is that for games that support dual gamepads, it's reasonable to assume that you would have different views on each, so it isn't just duplicating it but rendering all three screens at once.

I won't. I don't care what new features that add. I already thought 50€ was a rip-off for the pro controller, but 140€ is more of a rape-off. Just no.

I'm pretty sure the frame rate limitation is down to the fact they only designed the Wii U with a single GamePad in mind. That means the hardware can only handle a single video stream over the custom 5Ghz WiFi to the Gamepads.
When people wanted two GamePads, rather than doubling the hardware (and making the Wii U more expensive), they just implemented a software patch so that they could alternate frames as GamePad 1 or GamePad 2, with the relevant GamePad only displaying the image tagged for it.
That is pretty much how WiFi works anyway, everyone sees everything, but data not directed at your MAC address is ignored.

It would be pretty cool if with each gamepad, you could place or set of traps from afar by using a birds eye view for Mario Kart on the gamepad, or if you had a co-op RPG you could trade potions and stuff by flinging them to another gamepad. Buuuuut, maybe I wouldn't want the two gamepads to do anything at all. It's just sometimes I don't like having to constantly look away from the TV screen (like I did with Nintendo Land) to do things.
