I'm thinking of picking this up tomorrow but I have two worries, the size of the community and the DLC.
I'm coming from the Xbox and obviously I know the community is smaller but is it too small? And as far as the DLC goes, does anyone know if we're getting them?

As far as I'm aware there has been no indication or announcement of DLC.

last night when i was playing Black Ops 2 on the WiiU there was only people playing in team deathmatch, i doubt there will be any DLC, i have a X360 to & i wish i had got it on that instead of the WiiU, i would recommend you buy it for your X360 & not the WiiU.

Well i had this for 360 from launch night(yes i waited at midnight) and you get around 300,000 people per night playing. I bought it again for WiiU yesterday and the max number of players i have seen so far is 2500 but i have never struggled to get a match.

Gameplay can be done on gamepad but make sure your wide awake lol.

Graphics are a far bit better on the WiiU version

DLC is a good mix on 360 of maps,i guess the WiiU dlc will come with time although not sure about Nuketown.

If i had to choose between one or the other and you had the same amount of mates playing it on both systems i would choose the WiiU version, simply due to what extra the gamepad adds on large screen on pad screen and the better graphics.

Hope this helps. :)
