I just read this on another site, as title they have removed the family gold pack which for me is a kick in the teeth as we have multiple Xboxs and have had times where all four accounts were in use at once. I guess they must be getting ready for a nice expensive 720 live deal that might include being on a 360??

Wonder whats next!

based on everything iv heard with the 720, and a couple things from the 360, ms is prepareing xbox to fall into a deep hole that they will have to dig themselves out of with a spoon.

Microsoft used to be my hero, but with these announcements and the all the ripoffs they pulled w/ live and their big piece of crap they call an Windows 8 OS. And most of all, they caused the downfall of the best development studio of all time, Rare. Microsoft now lies at the top if my most hated companies.

My family account is still showing as active and due for renew in October.  Surely if it was ditched they would have disabled auto-renew?

Mine runs out in october as well but it won't auto renew,you jet get an error message. A mate of mine tested it last night by trying to upgrade from single to family and he simply could not.

Its hardly a screw up. Yes it is annoying if they have got rid of the family pack which is advantageous to some but its not surprising. That's the way a lot of things are going these days. There are perks and special offers disappearing all the time. I'm not saying its right or justified but its reality.

As for swapping a 360 for a Wii U its hardly any better considering the Wii U itself is not perfect either with regards to Nintendo's service offerings.

fun fact: swag was used in the sixties in hollywood buy gay people to announce gay orgies in secret bc it wasnt as socially accepted as it is today. swag stood for Secretly We Are Gay

Free online and social features, at least. There are some parts of LIVE that I like, but Nintendo actually did it pretty well to start off, and hopefully will expand functionality as time goes on.

The most annoying thing is MS making demos only available to gold subscribers for the first week a few years back. I have a gold UK account but silver US and Japanese accounts and I have to wait a week before downloading any demos from the US or Japan. Now its very rare for there to be a demo on the Japanese store worth downloading but there are often demos only available on the US store or ones that come out on the US store early and its annoying to have to wait or not get them at all.

I can understand them doing it, to give incentive for subscribing, but it is very annoying.

MS is only about profits. Due to the fact they are not only a gaming company and that the XBox is not their main source of revenue, they dont want nor need to make their customers really happy, whereas an exclusive gaming company will do whatever it takes to keep the customers. I dont trust MS in gaming.
