Found this today, got to be a system seller and a nice cash maker for Nintendo!

Just getting word in that the game is to utilise NFC by collecting figures for 200 Yen at the Pokémon Centers for sale. This will bring certain Pokémon into the game.

The game is also due for release in Japan on April 24th for 1800 Yen

Story wise, the toy Pokémon have been lost from the shop after falling in the river. The task is to get back to the Toy Shop, while facing various bosses such as Chandelure.

Figure-wise, 6 standard figures, as well as 1 special figure, will be for sale on launch day. The figures not only activate the Pokémon, but you can store their battle data on the figures themselves!

Interesting. I can dig it. Let's NOT make this into an "Oh No! They are just using NFC for figures! " thread. No one cares if you don't like the idea.

It's what sky landers giants does a little chip in a toy saves data on it such as levels etc and puts the toy in the game as a charector.

So... will the Japanese figures work on American consoles? Because I want both American and Japanese sets.

Pretty cool, I wouldn't mind getting a few figures depending on their size.

I don't really see the point if you can get the pokemon on the game anyway (I assume you can, otherwise no sale for me).

Bring the noise.

If the toys are priced fairly then ok but I still can't belive they did this with a Pokemon game, even if it was just a matter of time.

If I'm correct, 200 Yen is about $2. In comparison a Skylanders figure from what I've seen tends to go from $10-16 brand new.

I would buy the figures for $2-$4 maybe $5 if I really liked that specific one.

From what I've seen, I think the toys are only optional. Considering the past two Pokemon Rumble games are based around collecting other Pokemon to play as after beating them.

As for the game itself, I'll probably get it. I might pick up a figure or two, just for the novelty. This doesn't seem to be like Skylanders where you can only get characters by the use of figures.

Not the biggest fan of Pokemon here, but they should really go all out on a Pokemon game for Wii U. And treat it like a big budget title. Not little plastic looking Nintendo-Land characters. Now that they have a console that can do anazing things, they should have a Pokemon game that has 3D graphics that look just like the anime series, but enhanced. Pokemon lovers would not only buy it, but it would pull in a lot more people too.

After seeing the Rumble U screens, they do look very nice, but not at all what it could be.
