
HMV, a British chain of stores, was reported to have slashed their Wii U and Zombi U bundle price a week or so ago, and then the following week, Wii U sales increased 125% in the UK. So, the question we have now is should Nintendo themselves cut the price of the Wii U, now that we’re out of the launch window?
Although we can’t directly tie a single store chain cutting the price of the Wii U with a sale increase, it no doubt helped fly the console of the shelves where available with the price decrease. A problem that might arise is the same of the Nintendo 3DS when it had a price drop: what should Nintendo do for those who bought the console at the normal price?
Should Nintendo give the Wii U a price drop? If they do, when should they make it happen? What would you like to the price dropped to?
