If you were somebody who thought Dues Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut was simply going to be a useless port to the Wii U, you may be able to reconsider now. In a recent interview with Penny-Arcade, designer Emile Pedneault had some nice things to say about the Wii U version of the game:
This is the best-looking Deus Ex. It’s even sharper than the PC version.
There was much more to be said on what makes the Wii U version even more unique than other version of the game:
Our goal right off the bat was not to make a port. We really wanted to take this opportunity working on the game again to just change what was ehh, so-so with the game and bring some new features to the game.
One of the things that will apparently make the game unique is, of course, the gamepad:
The hacking by touch is so cool, it’s like it was intended all along to be done by touch. And by leaving the main screen open, you can look around and make sure no one will spot you while hacking, so that’s one of the things that we instantly thought, seeing the Wii U, that would work well, and that’s exactly the case. We have this ultimate experience.
Pedneault added:
Who knows, maybe we’ll be that one game that makes the Wii U sell.
If Dues Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut is indeed great enough a game to be a system seller, perhaps this is the best version yet. The real question is, will current Wii U owners go out and buy the game as well?
