You’ve really got to feel almost sorry for SEGA after all the hoopla that has been associated with Colonial Marines. From a missed projected release date, to the Wii U version of the game being called the worst by testers, while according to other sources, the best, SEGA is really having a tough time with this. It gets even worse for the company, however, as a fan recently contacted the Advertising Standards Agency of the UK to investigate the promotional advertisements of the game.
The Advertising Standards Agency is responsible for overseeing products be represented properly and truthfully in advertisements in the UK. The ASA conducted an investigation, and they have decided that SEGA will have to use a disclaimer on their promotional advertisements saying some footage was taken from game demos, and not the final product.
One could say that Colonial Marines is clearly not what we expected if it only took a single complaint to the ASA to get SEGA to put a disclaimer on their advertisements. You can find a link to the original REDDIT post of this news here.
