Tales of Xillia will be coming to the Playstation 3 on August 6th in North America (there is no current release date for the European version of the game), but people have been wondering if there would be a new Tales game for the Wii U.
Well, in a recent interview with Kotaku, Hideo Baba, the producer of the series, expressed that he is impressed with the Wii U, but there is currently no Tales game development plans for the system, which is a stark contrast to saying that there will not be a Tales game on the console period:
I think the Wii U is a brilliant console that offers a lot of innovation and possibility for new types of gameplay. However at this current time we don’t have any development plans to make any Tales of games for the Wii U.
However, he also added that there aren’t any deveopment plans for the series on other next generation consoles as well, adding:
Just like the Wii U, we actually don’t have any plans.
