Earlier I posted about the Rolling Stone interview of Shigeru Miyamoto.
One of the things said by Miyamoto was in regards to Pikmin 3:
With Pikmin 3, you’ll have the ability to have three different captains or leaders of Pikmin groups and you can switch between them. So it sort of allows you to approach the game from a much more strategic position. The volume of work that you can get done within the timeframe has increased dramatically. And so that in and of itself really enhances the depth of strategy that’s available to you in that game.
The first Pikmin game, known as Pikmin (who’d guess), featured a single playable captain at a time, the second game, Pikmin 2, featured two playable captains at a time, and now Pikmin 3 will have three playable captains at a time. Perhaps Pikmin 4 will feature four playable captains at a time.
