Saw this on IGN and figured it wouldn't be a half-bad idea to make a thread about it.

its a console... why does this thread exist is the real question here.
Well, I've finally found my Starfox, and I love it.

the saturn was a good console but the ps1 destroyed it same with the dreamcast and ps2 shame because imo both consoles by sega were superior.
wii u premium, new super mario bros u, darksiders 2, call of duty black ops 2, zombiu
blue 3ds xl, resident evil revelations, zelda ocarina of time

Hmm a Saturn with a built in netlink, I had heard rumours of such a thing existing although whether this is legitimate or not I can't say.

I wish SEGA would just make another console already, handheld or home, c'mon SEGA it's 2013 now, over a decade since you left, you got the money, show us what you can do!!!!

Well as I'm originally a Sega fanboy I'd have to sell my Wii U
Nah after the fail with 32x, Saturn I didn't get a Dreamcast and ended up with Nintendo and Sony! And that's the way it's stayed for now Sonyntendo FTW!
However I would love Sega to reclaim a spot on the console market again. Unfortunately they're no longer the Sega I knew

Sega could make a comeback. Idk why they don't do it.

Its a Sega Saturn with the 28k modem built in already. History lesson - Sega Saturn had a 28k modem that could be used to play online games, surf the web and send emails. The modem plugged into the top slot that looks like it would fit a Genesis cart in. Action reply also plugs into that to unlock region!
Sega Saturn was/is awesome. I remember being a kid in the 90s, no one had a Saturn. Everyone had PSx or N64. I

Money! They no longer have the Money to do it. Not to mention that, for the market they would go at, is already packed with Sony and MS.

I never liked it`s controller, but the console had a great line-up. Too bad it really never had a chance to keep on fighting.

Money, perhaps. Maybe they're afraid of it not selling. Maybe they're comfortable where they are, just making games.

I think this thing died because it was released at the wrong time, just like the DreamCast did, or it was simply crushed by Nintendo and Sony.

Were you talking about making a new console? That`s what i understood.

Sega could do a console like Ouya. If they use a powervr based gpu and a fast arm chip they might be able to offer dreamcast compatibility for slightly reworked downloaded dreamcast games.
I think Sega would do well with a low cost 'ouya' type console offering both android and original dreamcast games plus new games written specifically for it. It wouldn't need to have an optical drive. What's more it could be integrated into televisions etc.

yeah, i mean the only real issue they had before was the genesis accessories debacle, and the saturn's weird architechure which scared away third parties to playstation and n64, and don't forget the horrible and weak marketing campaign.

I would probably think the latter .

Those problems can also be solved. They just don`t the funds anymore to do that. That`s why they dropped the Dreamcast in the first place.
The only thing i remembre is hearing about how Dreamcast was to hard to develop for. That`s basically all i remembre from those days!
