I have a radical idea to make Nintendo tons of money. Make a Zelda game that isn't about Link or Zelda, but rather your character becoming a Hero or Villain. Or a farmer. Or a knight. What ever you want. You can play solo in the world that is affected by others are doing.

But if you work with your friends you can unlock the main temples (like the Water Temple) and here is the kicker.

This world you would be playing in is the same world that the next actual Zelda game would be. You could see all the temples. As the developer you could make it where every now and then you would see Link, and there would be postings in town where Link was last seen. Where he might be going.

I think this would be an exciting game. What do you think? What ideas do you have?

You remember him? You find him, give him a letter and tell him to send it to your friend. It would cost rubes to mail of course.

I wouldnt mind this , I actually enjoy the idea. But create a world just for this rpg with zelda/ hyrule elements. Don't take parts from the main zelda games.

That could work, as long as you end up making a solo only game. That way you could still have that "hero" you can see every now and then.

Anyway, that would be nice. The game would be called Hyrule, would take place in Hyrule right? That would be great. I would actually love it. I don't know how realistic this is though, I'm afraid it would only be a fantasy that Nintendo would not care to make.

I'm into the idea! I would love this to happen. Plus the Zelda series has shown that it works perfectly with the open world idea.

nooooooooooo please no mmo, almost every game that anyone has turned into an mmo has been completely ruined. Warhammer, SWTOR, DCUO, LOTR, FInal Fantasy, Star Wars, The Sims Online. and TESO is sure to follow

The idea isn`t bad. Zelda does have na incredible world, races, lots of enemies, could even involve time travel to play other game stories.

Yes, i was thinking about the world in Ocarina of Time. But they could change things, and for experienced players, they could add certain places or dungeons from other games.

Unfortunately, i think such game will never come to be.

Not even a MMO Pokémon game is coming and that would sell a lot more than a Zelda MMO.

Always wanted to see them take a swing at a mmo though I'd prefer one in the metroid universe. However one in hyrule would be good to.
