This recent update it took near the same amount of time to install the update as it did to download it is everyone having slow installs or is there some setting I can change thanks
Also I am not using any HDD I am just using the console memory I have the Black 32G

Slow installs.
Takes about 30 minutes to install the updates.
It's faster when the updates don't massively change core parts of the firmware.

It's normal. Took me 20 minutes to install the update and usually 3 minutes to install a 32 MB game.

Its not that bad, I mean just keep it next to your router, and have time for yourself, cook something, read your emails, browse here, order something at Amazon, read a book.

I just left my Wii U on overnight. (i only have 500 kb/s internet)
Well, I've finally found my Starfox, and I love it.

It's a massive update. It is supposed to enhance the console's performance. That's why it took that long. I don't think your download speed was below average.

the update dosent improve speeds or downloads on my wii u basic unless im missing a trick or something

It's normal, good thing is after the update all future installes will be done in the background.
