What will happen to the future of metroid and lets see how many of you actually support metroid by reading this at all. @_@

Excellent Editorial, both informative and professional. I just have a few gripes. First, I don't believe Metroid is anywhere near dead, nor do I believe Nintendo would begin to shun one of their key franchises as Capcom has done with Megaman. I also hate when people purely blame Team Ninja for Other M or say that it is a bad game. Other M is an excellent addition to the franchise and delves into Samus's character; something that had never truly been done before. The idea to make the game more story driven belongs solely to the co-creator of the Metroid Series Yoshio Sakamoto and he was right to do so. The only problem with it is that the majority of gamers today are immature children who care nothing about story and think a great game is Call of Duty. Granted they could've hired a better English voice actor or allowed Japanese dubs with English subs. Lastly, this was long as the fire pit below us!

But the thing is, metroid other m's story was not what fans wanted, it was dull and it was like they had to keep reminding us, samus is a girl, when really Samus is a bad-ass and thats all that matters. This is why metroid prime rocked!

Compared to other 1st party games, metroid doesn't sell well and everytime they release a ggod metroid game a new halo releases and since the Wii drove off "Core" gamers & Casuals aren't interested in Nintendo's "Hardcore" game, Other M didn't sell well. The way I see it, Metroid can be saved if they added a Excellent online where you use all kinds of weapons and play many game modes. Also Retro studios does Campaign and Activision does online.

In another thread I suggested a Metroid MMO, and I think it could be a great Hardcore-Magnet. With the many suit upgrades, and the many different types of planets and bounty hunters, there's not much more that would be needed to make it one of the best of the genre.

It doesn't matter if it's the story fan's want, what matters is if the story plays it's role, and that it does. I believe it does an excellent job portraying Samus' humanity and does well to prove that she has a soul and is a person. not just some "bad-ass" that's good at killing things and has a heart. I can't vouch for other gamers but when I get a character, I want them to be developed and have a purpose.

That is what Metroid needs.
The sales go to games that have multiplayer, and this video is just one reason why.

maybe you should be able to have suits being separate like zelda and add upgrades to increase stats (speed, power, defense) and more abilities/add to the current ones, like what they did with the grapple beam in prime 3. heck, they should add more environment interaction for strategy like in bioshock, i remember this atleast once in prime 1 where you release metroids and they attack the space pirates, i personally loved that. also they need to continue after fusion, id personally love to see samus as a fugitive trying to expose/stop the federation and in the game you wont know who you could trust because theyer either with the feds or bounty hunters which means they could turn on you easily

There trying to get people in the metroid thats why they put samuses suit and ship in battle mii.They should have a commercial of a metroid game because if I belive no metroid game ever had a commercial.
