I own all three last gen consoles.
I guess I need to "wake up" and "get a life".

 

Not necessarily, but probably.  It depends on what other responsibilities you have in life and what else you're getting done (or not getting done).  I am in my mid-twenties, am married with a small child, and have a full-time job, so I've found that having all the consoles and playing all the games I'd want to play is no longer realistic.  But everyone's situation is different.

I'm becoming a Nintendo loner as well.  I had the Xbox360 and PS3 for the last generation, to only end up selling the PS3 later down the road.  Since I got the Wii U the Xbox has been out of commission.  I don't have as much time to spend playing video games anymore with an 8 month old and wife, so there is no point in wasting money on PS4 and Xbox720 material.  Plus, I want my daughter to grow up on the same games as I did.  I think that would be kind of neat.

What about console exclusives? You seem to have left that part out. That's the appeal to buying multiple consoles. Not everyone has the money, but that's why you get the consoles down the road when they're cheaper. You didn't think well enough when you made this post.

 

Sure he thought about his post.  The Wii U for exclusives and the PC for third party stuff.  I have pretty much drawn the line in the sand with this generation.  I can afford all three, but I'm not doing it anymore.  There is no way that I'm giving another penny to MS for a pay to play online service and practically no exclusives, and the Sony exclusives just don't appeal to me the way that they used to.  After really thinking about it the solution was clear.....Nintendo exclusives and PC for everything else.

Yeah that is the only way I would cave.  If the PS4 has a stable of must play games in like 4 years, and the price is dirt cheap maybe I'll buy.

@above Re-read my post. We already got into a debate about the exclusives on other consoles that can't be found on PC. (Which got deleted anyway...) If the exclusives don't appeal to you, that's fine. However, don't act like the only good games are on Nintendo platforms and PC. (Which was his way of thinking.) That's what I meant about him not thinking when he posted it.

Ah gotcha I was late to the party, and actually you are correct about Sony.  It won't be hard for me to fight off MS in this generation, but fighting off the PS4 will be tough because of exclusives. The only place that I gave 360 and advantage over Nintendo and PS3 in the last generation as far as my gaming needs was with the selection of indie titles, but luckily Steam puts those to shame.

For 2 years the PS3 will still be supported, then it'll take a further 2 for next gen games to really start shining, still by then PC/Steam games may be my main source of gaming. Unless the Ps4 gives me a must have exclusive

I couldn't agree more, but you do have to throw Sony Santa Monica on the Sony side also.

Pikmin, 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros what can compete with that? a lot of these games are coming off of god tier games . Retro is coming off of Prime 3 and Donkey Kong. Mario is coming off of Galaxy 2. Monolith Soft just came off of the most loved RPG's last generation.

no contest? You act like there aren't 70 million ps3 owners who would e interested in those games. All of my buddies who game? Other than Mario Kart (for the 64) all of those are games they would laugh at (other than xeno, pikmin and fire emblem, those they wouldn't even know). Nintendo first person titles are awesome! FOR Nintendo fans. If someone isn't already a Nintendo fan, they generally don't like Nintendo first party titles (in my experience of course).

 

To say sony's line up will be every bit as good as Nintendo's is true in a sense. Sony fans will like Sony's lineup compared to Nintendo's lineup just as Nintendo fan's like Nintendo's line up compared to Sony's lineup ^^

Wow, really? I think Watch Dogs will be best on Wii U. That game looks like it was made for the second screen.

its stupid considering more than 1 console... Just think about all these people who say:  OH I WILL GET 720 AND WII u.. OR... PS4 AND wii U.. or all of them... hahaha

 

now just calculate that money  300 for wii U + 200-400 for accessories and games  and a ps4 for 400-500+400-600 in games... overall an extreme pc with loads of games and for more years than the actual console can live!.

 

u normally get 1 platform that has the best exclusives and a pc... I never like the idea of 2 consoles, or 3...  Today consoles cost alot of money! In the other hand people say.. PC IS EXPENSIIIIVE.. yeah right, let me ask you a question... how much money you gave the last 5 years in consoles... PC can last much longer and u play much better quality games.
