The current Model is also being discontinued.

There's no chance of me buying this newer model. It doesn't have any advantages over the current model, and the Wii U is just around the corner.

Either way, I'm good with my current Wii. I don't mind the lack of Gamecube support (I have a working Gamecube), but I just got a new Wii back at Mario's 25th, thanks to the launch Wii being broken

The post above was certified to be simply smashing by the Wii U Forum Staff.

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

I think the whole purpose of this model is to lower the producing cost, so they can sell more Wii(s), so that Nintendo makes more profit, hence the Nintendo select titles.

Same with the PSP, they're releasing a Wi-fi-less model soon.

It was already supported as of FW 4.0 I think. Might have been 4.2and maybe added support for SDHC.
Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Basically sums it up, though I expect for this to work it'll have to be significantly cheaper, $150 maybe (AUD). But I dunno, they took out the Gamecube ports, not only does that disallow GCN games, but also takes away those particular control options for certain games. This new Wii is basically a Family Edition, because none of the casual families care about GameCube support, they just play the games like Wii Sports and Wii Play. Plus it's tinier and takes up less space.

No, the way he worded it clearly states that he owns 14 GameCube systems. Not games, systems.I think he meant "games"... (At least I hope he did.)
