I want this for the Snowboarding and Racing stuff plus the hockey parts looked cool I never thought id be interested in a game like this.

Might just be the video feed but I wasn't to impressed with the graphics. Of course this isn't really the sort of game to be touting top level graphics but still. Secondly all those nintendo characters look odd in hd. They scare me slightly.

The resolution in the stream was very, very crappy to me but I have to admit at first I thought it was a 3DS game, until I saw some parts that looked way too good to be a handheld game. Still not impressed though.. waiting for some HD screens.

 

Edit: Rewatched the trailer. The first parts of the trailer looks really good graphically, if you see through its crappy 240p resolution (of the footage posted in this thread). Then afterwards, with the curling and bob-sled parts, they looked pretty outdated.. guess we'll see.

Graphics for this game are all over the place.

 

Mostly, they are "ok." 

 

But the characters in the hockey area are outstanding. very high poly. Still not impressed with the effort the texture artists put in.

 

Hopefully, they will be putting in some more work there.  but doubtful.

 

Overrall, the game looks like a ton of fun.  but not crazy on the graphics (in spite of Iwata's singling out the graphical improvement over past games in this series).

 

Kinda reminds me of a Mario Party game (sorta), where the graphics aren't why you play.

As for the game itself, the  Winter Games were the best of the three, so I'll probably end up getting this. First one was bleh and I skipped out on the third one.

I just checked out a video to Mario & Sonic at the 2012 Wii to compare the two. This new game does look better - you can see differences in lighting and polygon counts, and subtle differences in terrain.

So aside from Delfino Plaza, from the video we also got Speed Highway from Sonic Adventure 1 (it reuses the design from Sonic Generations) and Mushroom Bridge from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

You know..I've unfairly hated on the mario& sonic games because of silly reasons like sonic should never lose a race, mario should never be out jumped, blah blah blah, 

but the fact is all iterations of this series sold very well, and for what it's worth are probably the best made/fun olympic games out there.

I'm sorry, Nintendo. These graphics aren't appropriate for a Mario game. Too many details.
