
John Carmack, the founder of id Software has referred to the Wii as “out of sync” with the other technologies like the Xbox 360 and PS3, explaining that “you couldn’t have the same content base also targeting the Wii.”
But he admits, in reference to the Wii U, that “It would probably be straightforward to target our stuff over there. It would depend on what the business case is for any of that.”
And that sounds somewhat hopeful. But it also feels like a little like the 3DS. Developers are saying they could develop something, but are being too conservative, which just leads to a lack of games worth playing. Hopefully at least a few of these developers actually put something together rather than just talk about it.
