In short, what the the RIAA/MPAA wants to do is get permission from the government to send malware, spyware, ransomware and trojans to your computer, and if they think you're downloading something illegally, they can cause your computer to cease functioning until you call the police and tell them what you did.

 

I don't see how this is going to stop piracy, rather than anger people but whatever.

They've been doing that for years.

 

They hire people to put up torrents filled with malware and then track downloads to issue dmca's to.

This already sounds like a bad idea, it gets even worse though when you realize how easy someone could exploit this and mess up hundreds of people's computers.
