I need another console to hold me over until Wii U. Which one and why?

If I were you, I'd like for games on your computer to play, or try to do something "constructive"... unless you have the money to waste. Then just buy the one that has more games that you want/like.

Honestly, I'd rather have a PS3. But that's just me, you need to get the system that has more games that you yourself are interested in.

If you love to play online games, Xbox 360 is where the deal is. But if you're not an online freak, choose the PS3. Or whatever console with the games you want the most is.

I prefer the PS3. It has a lot of great exclusives coming this year.

If I was in your position I'd get a PS3. It looks like a great deal to me at the moment with the recent price cut and free online. Of course if all of your friends have Xbox 360's or something and you would want to play online with them then I'm sure the Xbox 360 would be a great deal too.

It depends on a few things. If playing online is very important to you, then you should get whichever console most of your friends have. If online isn't important to you, you should make your decision based on the games and get whichever one has more exclusives that you're interested in. Both of the consoles are very powerful and can produce great graphics, so I wouldn't make a decision based on power, as there isn't a huge difference.

Well...most of the exclusives on the Xbox360 get ported over to PC eventually. :S That's kinda what swayed me over to the PS3.

Upgrade your PC or, if you have to go with a console, get a PS3. Most western games are multiplat for both 360 and PS3, while Japanese games tend to be PS3 exclusive, meaning that the PS3 has a much larger library.

Well I only own the 360 and Wii, not the PS3, but from what I have played of the PS3 (and seen on YouTube), I would say PS3, I personally like the exclusives on it more than the 360 exclusives, and just all around I like it better.

the 360s live isnt actually that good, its basically the same as on the wii, just that you can properly message people and talk to random strangers, plus you have to pay for it. The PS3 has much better graphics (methinks) if you have a hd tv and online is free. I think both of them have pretty much the same size "libraries" and, well, thats it

I've opted for the PS3, which I'm getting on Thursday.

As well as having a lot of which the Xbox360 offers, I'll also get a lot of jRPGs as well.

The jrpgs do seem to be better on PS3 for me dunno why though
