Well some retailer in South Africa had a clearance sale on the Premium Nintendo with Nintendoland for R999 and R949 which is roughly about 85 pounds or $100. Never took off is South Africa and launched worldwide too later, to close to PS4 and Xbox One launch(South African are more for hardcore machines it seems). But now they sold bucket loads, people even camped out side store just to get one. so hopefully we can see some sales on games happening, as people realize just awesome the Wii U is.

Probably not a significant market for Nintendo anyway but that level of discounting would never be sanctioned by Nintendo and is likely a retailer pulling out of selling wii u altogether.

We think it came from the local distributions. either Nintendo is pulling out of South Africa or dropping Wii U altogether here as it was 3 different retailers doing the price drop, just waiting on the others to do same. Only seems that  like the handhelds sell here for them. Even Wii is dead here with only kids under age playing on them.
