ok so basically I got a computer on ebay last week and up until now, its worked fine no problems but suddenly yesterday I clicked the windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen (I have windows 7) and it crashed in that party of the screen an the rest was active and working but when I loaded up chrome suddenly the whole screen froze like a pc might do if you try to load a lot of applications at once. 

but after this the screen went black and then a blue windows error message came up for 2 seconds and it shut its self down, now every time I turn it on I get my motherboard bios options.

what do I do?

Reinstalling Windows is probably your best bet.

Also try investing in Adblock and avoiding any suspicious links.

you don't get past the bios to windows repair ?

no my bios crashed

at what point does it stop booting windows?
a picture might help too.

If your not getting beyond BIOS then it may be a hardware issue, not a software issue, very well could be your hard drive. You don't have a Windows 7 Key? The previous owner didn't stick it to the tower anywhere?

Can you take a photo of what it looks like?

Is it possible to test the memory? Use another computer to make a linux livecd and see if that works.
