Many 1st person shooters today are shooting to look as life like as possible in terms of graphics. To me, one of the the most important things in a FPS is how it handles, how tight the controls are. Nintendo may not be into FPS but I believe if they made a Mario FPS it would be the best FPS around. With Nintendo's tight controls, beautiful and creative and colorful environments, mixed in with their characters, I think they could create an unstoppable masterpiece! No need for blood and gore, I'm looking for gameplay, animation antics, and humor.

I think Prime is a given but I want to see more FPS from Nintendo and because I like the characters and environments in Mario games, I think it would be an awesome game.

Fps should look at the Prime series and see how it's not always about shoot, shoot, shoot, etc. I like fps but sometimes it gets very redundant like look at Bioshock infinite great everything but it's gameplay and several of it's scenarios were very repetitive and would sometimes be a choir to get through. So yes I would love Nintendo to give it another go on the fps genre and give it diversity like it did with the Prime series.

Well, I do hope Nintendo has a killer FPS in the works, I think it would help the system a lot.

That would ruin the whole concept of Mario in the first place and I think that if Miyamoto really wants to create an FPS game he will either integrate the mechanic in a franchise that already exists but without changing the formula it is known for (like Metroid) or he will create a brand new IP. In fact that's what he said in a recent interview.

You might not be far off. The Master Of All, Creator of Mario, wants to make a First Person Shooter.

I doubt this would happen, even if it was in a Mario style. It's just not Mario style gameplay, the series will just stick with 2D/3D platformers and the spin offs. If Nintendo were to make another FPS, it would be another Metroid game, or a new IP.

2xmario fps wouldn't sell at all. The only Mario fps I can see is mini games from Mario party.
