...anyone?  If so, can you share your experiences?  I might start writing to someone serving a life sentence, but I want to see if anyone else here has ever done this before.

Probably not. Because then the prison you're in has internet access and so your contact with the outside world is not as limited.

 

 

 

I haven't done it, but I'd say to go for it unless the fact that the person is a criminal will be constantly at the forefront of your brain. I don't know anything about this criminal that you would end up writing to, but he or she should appreciate communicating with someone that doesn't simply view him or her as a lawless criminal. I'm still guessing, but if he or she is treated as a real person then when he or she gets out he'll feel like he belongs in society and will integrate better.

 

But it's really up to you. It might seem a little scary at first, but you have to be capable of seeing the person as more than a criminal.

 

 

But in the end I'm just speculating. I'm a bit antisocial so I don't really know what it'd be like.
