Donkey Kong games were amazing not just because they were good games but because they difficulty was good.. hard but not unbeatable - giving you a sence of acomplishment when you beat the lost world in DK 2 ect

Has anyone played the Wii donkey kong and care to share there thoughts on difficulty. I only ask because if TF is anything like super mario bros U I might just give it a miss.

also why isn't DK 1 2 and 3 in the Nintendo E shop anymore...

Donkey Kong Country Returns was a pretty difficult game. (Unless you're seasoned like me!) It definitely retains the difficulty from the older installments. I'm assuming Tropical Freeze will be the same way. The game doesn't hold your hand UNLESS you choose the option to have levels completed by a bot. I guess this was made for people who find the game too hard.

DKCR was challenging, but maybe a little less challenging than the originals. It did make you want to throw your controller at the screen at times so it shares that with the SNES trilogy.

I'm sure Tropical Freeze will be the same, although I have a feeling there may be an "easy mode" like the one that was added to the 3DS remake of Returns. In videos for tropical freeze it shows gameplay where you have 2 hearts and where you have 3. I'm hoping it's an easy mode and they haven't made the whole game easier.

Oh and no one knows why nintendo removed the DKC trilogy from Virtual Console. Hopefully it will appear on the Wii U eShop at some point.

I have a feeling there may be an "easy mode" like the one that was added to the 3DS remake of Returns.

Nintendo said that they only added that because it was better suited for the 3DS's portability, but who knows. I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I'd personally choose the harder mode.

In answer to the original post, I say it will be hard. NSMB is a lot floatier and more casual gamer-friendly than DKCR. I imagine Tropical Freeze may not be as hard as the originals, but still be pretty challenging at many times.

If you think Smogon ban stuff

"Just because they can't beat it"

You clearly don't play OU

You clearly have no knowledge of the metagame

And you clearly don't deserve to have an opinion.

DK games are mainly hard because of all the collecting you have to do to actually 100% it.
That's a trademark for the series so I doubt they'll change it.

If it's the same challenge as DCR, I'm all for it! :D

If you wanted to play the original DKC1/2/3, check to see if they can be played on a SNES emulator through Wii homebrew.

Fortunately for me, I downloaded them from Wii Shop Channel so I could transfer them to my Wii U.
