For those of you who have more experience with console releases, when do you think that, for example, the PS4 will be back in stock given that it seems to be sold out everywhere? On Amazon even the non-day 1 version is sold out. When do you think that they'll be available for sale to people who didn't pre-order?

Yes, they will, but only for a few days. The same happened to the Wii U, just after a week of its launch it was sold out everywhere.

My local EB retailer suggested something like late January/ early February for the next batch.

Sony recently stated they are holding back units to have stock on retail shelves for walk in customers. That said I think trying to get hold of either console will be harder then people think at least for the first month or two.

I think PS4 may run thin for a couple of weeks but I doubt Xbone will sell out,even with the limited supply due yield problems.
Was going to pre order a PS4 but then thought about it and realised nothing new would be gained.
