As a lot of you may know, Nintendo has finally realized what they have to do in order to acquire as many third party development studios as possible to bring the world's best game franchises to Wii U and bring consumers on board for the best experience you can find in the new generation of console gaming. Some may say otherwise, but the hardware to bring the best games to the platform is present, going by reports of legitimate Nintendo licensed developers and NOT from others looking from the outside in, because of the scared approach considering the somewhat beginning to mid year sluggish sales. EA, one of, if not the biggest third party publisher on Earth has stated that they will bring support and optimize their engines when the time is right and the sales are booming. This is quite a smart move by EA, and many other developers are watching Nintendo right now and the Wii U especially. After this holiday we will see the true future of Wii U. Just give it after the beginning of next year and the system will have plenty of third party games. Watch them sell better than on the Xbox One too, maybe even the PS4. It's all up to Nintendo now. They should just make it quicker, easier, and cheaper to port games to Wii U.

Will people be willing to pay $300, $400, $500 for new gaming hardware? That's the question that keeps going over in my mind. I work in retail and it amazes me, people 9 times out of ten, choose the low cost option even when the low cost option is garbage. for example we have bikes that sell for $99, these bikes are trash. then we have the better models starting at $169. you can see the difference in build and quality, yet people always go for the cheaper option. Its mind boggling. Im not trying to imply wiiu is trash or that bike analogy can be directly applied to Nintendo's situation, but i think  the major factor in the majority of peoples purchases come down to price. Another question is  will people buy the software? that's the big issue with third parties. Will little timmy want to play watch dogs and cod on his new wiiu? or rather play mario 3d world?

I am gonna be optimistic! I am gonna have FUN with my wiiu and my new wiiu games this holiday season! and I await new announcements from nintendo about future titles!

I also predict wiiu will sell over 500 trillion units and nintendo will become supreme over lord of the entire universe!1!1!!one!

I'm sorry I'm lost. Your paragraph puts a lot of emphasis on how i's a good thing while making it hard to figure out what exactly what "it" is.

It would help if you pointed to some evidence that Nintendo HAVE realised this as I haven't seen any.

I also fail to see how its good for Nintendo that EA are waiting to see if the Wii U sells well enough before developing anything else for it.  This just gives PS4/Xbone time to catch up and as they already have stronger third-party support from the start, they could easily pull ahead very quickly.  Lets not forget, porting to those platforms is FAR easier than Wii U especially if you are already developing for PC.  The Wii U will always require a lot more effort to achieve good performance, its just how Nintendo design their consoles.

If little Jimmy wants Mario then he probably has a 3DS.  He IS (sadly) more likely to want CoD on a home console and many parents are stupid enough to buy it despite it being wildly inappropriate.  If cost is the main factor in getting the kids a console for christmas, its more likely they will get a PS3/360.

Its pretty obvious Nintendo are aware of this problem and why they are discontinuing the Wii in Japan, so that the ONLY way to get a Wii is to buy a Wii U.  It might work over there, but there simply is not the demand for the Wii elsewhere, there are plenty available second hand.

How to improve the Wii U download speed.
