I just bought the Wind Waker HD premium bundle yesterday after my old Wii U was stolen and I'm in contact with Nintendo at the moment to see if the can unlink my Nintendo ID from my old console so I can use on my new one.
I want to redeem the download code for Zelda but would prefer to have it on my Nintendo ID that I can't access just now.
If I create a new account & download Zelda on it, would I be able to add my old Nintendo ID to my Wii U (if Nintendo fix this) & play it on that or will I only be able to play it on the account it's been downloaded on?

You can play it on any account on that system, but it will be tied to the original account.
After wanting to change my ID I played around with having an account dedicated to eShop, but it's not really that worth it.
