As much as it sucks to see a company go under, probably the best part about it is seeing who gets the franchises. Now, its unclear if Capcom will recover from this but who gets the games?

Notable Franchises: Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Mega Man, Ace Attorney, Okami, Devil May Cry, Dead Rising ect.

 

My predictions:

Microsoft will get Dead Rising

 

DMC may go to 2K, Bethesda, Microsoft or unlikely Sony.

 

Ace Attorney and Okami will go to Sega?

 

Resident Evil to Ubisoft, I cant really think of a staple survival horror game from Ubisoft. Plus I think Resident Evil fits the Ubisoft image.

 

Not very knowledgeable on fighters so this may sound dumb, but Steet Fighter to Namco? Seeing as there is a Tekken and Street Fighter game in the works.

 

Mega Man will go to Nintendo, I don't think anyone will really even try to touch this one to be honest. Maybe Sony, but I'd be shocked if anyone got it besides Nintendo.

 

Monster Hunter will end up in a long bidding frenzy between Sony and Nintendo, but I'm uncertain of who will win.

 

Just guesses and predictions. What do you think?

As long as nintendo gets Monster Hunter and Mega Man I'm good. I want Nintendo to make sure that Okami, and Resident Evil remain on their platform regardless if they are the one buying them.

 

I think Nintendo will get Monster Hunter. They have the install base and Nintendo knows they need it in Japan. Mega Man would be nice to be officially owned by nintendo, but for some reason my gut says Sega will get it.

Whoa whoa whoa. Who did what now?

 

people are taking a Tweet Ono posted WAAAAAY out of context. Basically someone asked if he was doing a fighter for the next-gen consoles and he said "I'd like to try, but we don't have the resources." People then interpreted it as Ono saying CAPCOM doesn't have the money. Which if anyone took the TIME to think about it they would realize that's a load of bull. Thing is, Ono was referring to HIS TEAM, not CAPCOM as a whole, and to MANPOWER, not money. It's ridiculous. If CAPCOM is in danger of going under then companies like Square-Enix, EA, Take 2, and Sony (especially Sony) should have been dead AGES ago.

As a company, you want to avoid wasting money.
The money Nintendo have in their bank account is there to invest in new ideas, not to squander on mistakes and buying other companies.

Microsoft getting monster hunter? lol, not going to happen. It's too Japanese. Monster hunter would need some changes to become west friendly.

I'm not saying to buy it now- maybe later at a reduced price.  Could give it some solid IPs and therefore exclusives.....
