So I get home, power up the wii u to have some hd netflix night action and there is a message that I've received new software. I look and it's wii sports club. I never purchased it or selected it.

Felt like a little early Christmas gift. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, they already announced that it will be automatically downloaded to every Wii U console that's connected to the Internet. Sadly you have to pay for it if you want to use it for more than 24 hours.

Ok. Thanks for the heads up.

Not really digging the "forced demo" idea.

It's Spot Pass (game delivery) you can turn that off in settings. Apparently you have it turned on

From a marketing point of view, it`s a pretty good idea. And you can always turn it off.

Netflix has a porn section?

LOLOL porn jokes.

On a more serious note, it's not at all a forced demo. Like people said, you turn the option off. And even if you want it on, and therefore receive it, they're in no way FORCING you to play it. It's just there to raise awareness, so that people who don't follow gaming news closely know it exists.

Um not at all referring to that, thanks.

And forcing an install without input IS a forced demo.

An option for background os updates shouldn't be used this way IMHO.

I know you weren't that's why I said porn JOKES

Also, forcing a download, is very different than forcing a demo. If you were forced to demo it, then as soon as your Wii U turned on , you would HAVE to play the game before you do anything. It's a small download, and it's not bothering you so why let it bother you so much?

His Wii U was raped.

Just a joke although it didn't bother me, I can see it bothering others.

It was practically asking for it...

And I think it's a silly thing to be bothered by.

You can go into the settings and disable this feature so in future you wont get demos downloaded to your wii-u while its on stand-by, it's not a manatory setting, it's up to the end user if the activate it or not.

Me personally, i love it, i paid 40 quid for ps plus to use a similar feature to download demos and updates, yet Nintendo go and give me access to it for free, whats not to love. :)

That's according to your values.

So be it.

But it's ok to respect the values of others as well.
