Oh, Santa, I was so bad, please give me the worst holiday gift.... And a lot of bad, ugly games for it. And punish me to play them all day long. And night, if possible

Aside from Nintendo Land, NSMB U and Nintendo eShop games, I doubt any game made a profit yet.
Do ports count? cause I'm pretty sure some ports made money

Probably enough to break even and give a little bit of profit.
One thing that is completely unforgettable is the fact that Ubisoft won't make a second Zombi U because the first one was "not even close" to turning a profit. It's their fault that the game was in development for 4 years and roughly suffered 3 reboots or something. Selling 500.000 units as a launch title is pretty successful imo. What were they expecting, 3 million?

Why? Because of the short term gains due only to the fact it was out a year earlier? It its a complete waste of money unless all you wish to play are Nintendo games. The future is much brighter overall with the PS 4.The Wii U is actually the best choice for Christmas!
The PS 4 may not be a must buy right now. I give you that. But to advise investing in a Wii U if they don't know the lack of long term 3 rd party support is bad advice.
The Wii U is a niche system for gamers who like Nintendo products. It is a second system at best.

It entirely depends on what you like. Not everyone cares about 3rd party games. Right now all I care about it Titanfall and Watch Dogs. I'm playing Assassins Creed and Batman as well.
The only thing lacking about the Wii U so far is that there isn't enough Nintendo games for it.

Maybe you didn't read 3Dude's post on that ZombiU thing, and I can't be bothered searching for it right now, but 3Dude found some interesting evidence that pretty much proves that that story was manipulated by the original reporter to make it seem much more negative than what was actually said. Can't remember the details, though, ask 3Dude.
Edit: Here we go, found the thread (which wasn't an easy task considering the search is broken).

That is very true. I do not dispute that. Just don't be surprised when more people (like 5-1) like the PS4.

Honestly, I don't see a reason to buy a console this close to launch. I'd wait until at least 6 monts later to pick up a PS4 or XBone. (Though this is coming from a guy who bought the 3DS at launch.)
Consoles I own:
Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, PS1, N64, Gamecube, PS2, Dreamcast, Wii, Xbox 360
Handhelds I own:
GBC, GBA, NDS, PSP, 3DS, PS Vita

Cant disagree with this article and here is why. I cant see many people in my age range wanting a Wii U, 26. The casual consumer is still unclear why they should buy a Wii U / that Wii U is anything more than a tablet. Thus far the biggest selling point I've seen is being able to play your Wii U while someone else watches the main television. If I'm a parent I look at this and say "Okay, but I can buy little Jimmy a 3DS where he can play Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Monster Hunter, and just about every iteration of a game on Wii U, plus I don't have to see or hear from him while I watch television, What, its also cheaper thanks to the 2DS!?! SOLD!!!" When it comes to the other side of the causal consumers not exactly knowing what the Wii U is: I can't blame them...

The only way the Wii U sells well this Holiday is if they have really bad supplys of Xbox Ones and PS4 I would be well pissed if come Xmas day I got a Wii U when there was Xbox One or PS4s available and I own a Wii U and been a little disappointed with it so far.
