Ok so tomorrow I get a Wii U with Mario U & Luigi U. I am wanting to use VC and play Wii games too so I am thinking I need a Wiimote and a Nunchuck then at least one Wiimote for each player as we enjoy a bit of multiplayer in our house. Is the pro controller worth it or not as I dont want to have to buy too much stuff. I am thinking of getting the party pack to get a the 1st Wiimote sorted but it's not really that obvious as Mario U has a funny multiplayer where the gamepad becomes a block placing pad??!! I just want to be sure I order the right things so Mario world 3d can be enjoyed in a group when Xmas comes :D

Thanks

Congrats! Pro controller is really good for fps and fighters however many games also do support it including New Super Mario Brothers U and Luigi U. It's not necessary to have at first, perhaps get it on sale during the holidays!

the normal gamepad is fine imo.

other than a external HDD there are no other accessories you need really.

Ok I might have a spare external hdd kicking around somewhere in the house, not desperate yet I guess and I think I will look for a cheap pro controller too at some point. I have never even seen one in the flesh so tomorrow will be a bit of a new experience for me.

pro controler is only worthwhile if you plan to do local multy in some games, so definitly by the time SSB or mario kart come out. wiiremote is great for FPS, and spacific motion games, but id have it for backwords compatability, there is also plenty of games you can try out assuming you missed out on some wii games.

Hi, yeah I never had a wii so I have a few wii titles in my sights mario galaxy, sonic colours etc. I bought the Wii with local miltiplayer in mind as I have two kids & mario world 3d looks a blast & Mario Kart always is loads a of fun in multiplayer. I have ordered the Wii U party so I think a Nunchuck will be next.

Good choices. Does Nintendoland come in your bundle? I forget if it does since you are getting the Mario U and Luigi U.. either way... it's a great local multiplayer game

Pro Controller, decent headset and a external hdd. Oh I also have a soft neoprene case for my gamepad which fits it like a glove and keeps it safe.

If you're planning on buying some Virtual Console games from Wii Mode (N64, SNES in particular), I'd say you should pick up the Classic Controller Pro. Even more so if you're planning to play games like Brawl and Xenoblade on it. It also works in some regular Wii U games too.

Pretty sure it doesn't but it's only $30 now.  I'd definitely recommend it for that price.

No Nintendo Land, I can get it off ebay or something cheap though. I am in the UK if that helps. Interested in the neoprene gamepad case. I will have a look now. May Wii U is about 45 mins away from the tracking "Jamie is currently makingdelivery number 14, you aredelivery number 28.

Jamie is approximately 45 minutes away from you."

I bought WiiU at launch and haven't bought a pro controller. I actually like the gamepad for everything.

I bought a pre-owned pro controller from EB games and I have only used it once.

Might be too late but just in case, pick up one of these of these:

mNI7478aWKqzluJU3BDA3ow.jpg

It's basically a cap that goes on top of the Gamepad which keeps dust out when you're not using it. Not a big fan of screen protectors.

Also make sure the Wii Remote is one of these:

The pro controller is definitely worth getting and makes many games much easier to play then with the game pad. A neoprene case or sleeve is also a good idea for the Gamepad unless you're going to keep it on its stand. I have a neoprene case for mine for when I'm not using it. An external hard drive isn't necessary right away if you're getting the 32GB deluxe Wii U but you may need ot later depending on how much digital content you buy.
